The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong previous research record and be
ready to lead an independent research effort. They should also be committed to facilitating
learning and acting as a mentor and advisor for research. We particularly encourage
applicants with a background in image simulation, high-performance computing and "big
data" methods, or computational statistics who can help lead a multi-institution effort to
improve image simulation capabilities for future surveys. The department's existing efforts
in cosmology include the Rubin Observatory, the LSST Dark Energy Science Collaboration
(DESC), the Dark Energy Survey (DES), and the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope
program. Current strengths in the department include large-scale structure and weak
gravitational lensing, and various transient studies, particularly focused on supernova
cosmology. The Duke cosmology group continues to grow and expand. In addition to this
search, the department is also currently soliciting applications for a tenure-track position at
the assistant professor level in the areas of observational or theoretical
astrophysics/cosmology.

The Duke physics department has strong synergistic efforts in particle physics, nuclear

The successful candidate is expected to play a significant role in the development of silicon tracking software and track-triggering for the current and the upgraded ATLAS detector, and the physics analysis of ATLAS data. This position is based primarily at CERN.

This faculty position is primarily aimed at developing the UH Physics Linear Accelerator Facility. The main focus of the position is to develop the existing linear accelerator. The experimental High Energy Physics Group is involved in studies of B-mesons (Belle-II/SuperKEKB), neutrino physics (DUNE, protoDUNE, PROSPECT, NuLat, SuperK, KamLAND/KamLANDZen), radio and microwave detection of high energy particles (ACE, PUEO), and cosmic-ray-based technology for radio detection of potential lunar ice deposits (CoRaLS), direct dark matter detection (DarkSide and directional detectors),
Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS02),
GAPS, and advanced detector development for high
energy physics. The activities of the theory group include neutrino physics and
astrophysics, cosmology, physics beyond the Standard Model, dark matter physics, flavor physics, and CP violation, and inflationary cosmology.

Minimum Qualifications:
· A doctorate from a college or university of recognized standing in the field of physics or equivalent
· Demonstrated accomplishments in the development of low-energy accelerators and associated technology.

Desirable Qualifications:
· At least three years of postÂdoctoral experience in the design and operation of MeV-level linear accelerators
· Demonstrated ability to supervise student research and a clear plan and ability to attract external funding.
