Duties
• Manage event listings and ticket inventory within ticket software, supervise sales to individual ticket holders, subscribers, donors, outside groups, and on-campus administrators.
• Develop annual strategy for communication to existing theatre patrons; research, analyze, and segment patron lists for print and electronic campaigns; oversee day-to-day patron communications; assist with CFA marketing and publicity efforts. Design and generate regular reports to share with Center for the Arts team detailing weekly, monthly, and annual sales, subscription sales, Pepperdine student sales, and other categories as needed. Supervise subscription campaign. Analyze sales metrics and make recommendations for increasing sales through targeted promotions and discounts as needed.
• Supervise and train student employees in customer service and point-of-sale operations; interview, hire, and schedule student employees; oversee front-of-house operations as acting manager during performances.
• Supervise cash and credit card transactions for all ticket sales; prepare daily deposits for ticket sales; reconcile event ticket sales and transfer ticket revenue monthly; act as daily custodian for the CFA primary change fund, including processing change requests, allocating funds for daily or temporary use, and performing daily reconciliation of employee allocations. Process recharges and statements for on-campus and off-campus rental organizations. Submit requisitions for reimbursement of ticket revenue and other purposes as needed. Reconcile sales, deposits, and holding account with General Accounting and other departments as needed. Maintain PCI compliance standards for box office.
• Oversee customer database; correct, update, reconcile, and merge various data sources to track customer activity. Develop and coordinate all CFA lists for email and direct mail marketing campaigns. Upload subscriber list to Raiser's Edge as needed.
• Serve as member of the Center for the Arts Marketing and Publicity team. Assist with the design and composition of emails, web content, letters, postcards, and other electronic and print pieces sent to current patrons; report on success of print and electronic campaigns; oversee and prepare lobby displays and signage.
• Serve as Front of House manager on duty as needed for professional presentations, rental events, and student events. Help facilitate ARTSReach bus-in performances. Support alumni and donor engagement opportunities, including meet-and-greets and backstage tours.
• Evaluate and make recommendations on ticket service provider contract and annual ticketing fees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills And Qualifications
Required: High school diploma or equivalent. 2-4 years in customer service and/or communications; 1 or more years of supervisory experience in a customer service environment. Knowledge of basic sales, marketing, communications, design, and editing principles; advanced internet search skills; quick learner and independent problem solver; excellent written and spoken communication skills. Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel; proficiency in HTML and Adobe Photoshop; advanced PC experience. Knowledge of web-based ticketing systems.
Preferred: College degree in marketing, business administration, communication, the arts, or a related area. Experience working in one or more of the following sectors: nonprofit, performing arts, or higher education. Familiarity with an institutional style guide; knowledge of ticket sales and performing arts industry standards; knowledge of accounting principles; cash handling and reconciliation skills. Expertise in Excel; familiarity with Access; experience managing web content and point-of-sales systems; familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Illustrator; experience designing print, web, and email content. Experience running reports and selling tickets in web-based ticketing systems.
Qualified individuals should be able to articulate a strong commitment to diversity, and have the ability to work effectively with individuals from different backgrounds.

Business Services Specialist

The Business Services Specialist ensures a seamless and professional environment conducive to world-class service and high achievement. Serving as the first point of contact for colleagues and guests, as well as communicating on behalf of the division and University, this position employs hospitality, organization, and efficiency. The Business Services Specialist is proactive and responsible for the timely administration of routine processes, as well as the overall function of the dynamic office environment.
Though... the Business Services Specialist primarily provides support to the AVP for Human Resources and Business Services, the position also supports the entire Chief Business Officer division. As a member of the division's central administrative team, the Business Services Specialist helps meet departmental goals and priorities through collaboration, initiative, and follow-through. This position works directly with colleagues and external business partners to coordinate and communicate logistics and priorities, oversee walk-throughs, write reports, draft proposals, host events, complete projects, develop checklists, perform audits, and otherwise assist as needed.

The Business Services Specialist manages the operations for the office of the Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Business Services, and assists with various projects within the division. Though... the Business Services Specialist primarily provides support to the AVP for Human Resources and Business Services, the position also supports the entire Chief Business Officer division. As a member of the division's central administrative team, the Business Services Specialist helps meet departmental goals and priorities through collaboration, initiative, and follow-through. This position works directly with colleagues and external business partners to coordinate and communicate logistics and priorities, oversee walk-throughs, write reports, draft proposals, host events, complete projects, develop checklists, perform audits, and otherwise assist as needed.

Duties
• Operations, Projects, Audits, Reports, Assignments, and Events (maintain, prioritize, and administer a high level and complex task management system; track divisional expenses and projects; communicate and coordinate with partners and stakeholders, develop, review and edit presentations; prepare documents; write and edit reports and communications; benchmark and research data; manage logistics of Dining Services and VIP events with business partners and other campus department; developing schedules and checklists; conduct regular walk-throughs and provide reports of Dining Services facilities, campus bookstores, vending, and on-campus hotel; assist internal and operational audits; oversee the division's operational calendar, to ensure accuracy and alignment with partners and stakeholders; manage licensing approvals and assist with enacting the department's strategic plan; process onboarding and offboarding processes for campus business partners; facilitate vending operations, including placing orders and regular audits of sales and equipment; provide assistance to the Emergency Operations Committee, etc.)

Successful candidates must have demonstrated ability for teaching undergraduate coursework in exercise science/kinesiology with the ability to teach in some of the following courses in the program, e.g., human anatomy, physiology, exercise physiology, neuromuscular adaptations, health & fitness, and introductory statistics. Well-equipped laboratory spaces are available for teaching and research in the discipline. Additionally, opportunities for scholarly collaboration exist with faculty in sports medicine, physics, biology, and computer science.
Successful candidates will demonstrate an active commitment to the Christian values of the University and the mission of Seaver College. Located near Los Angeles in Southern California, Pepperdine University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute through their teaching, research, and service to the diversity and excellence of the University and our surrounding community.
The salary for this appointment will range from $64,584 to $68,000 and reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this faculty appointment. Actual salary may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to salary, Pepperdine offers a robust suite of employee benefits.
