You can also use the website to manage existing reservations, view past reservations and earn points for dining at participating restaurants. This exciting role as a member of the KAYAK and OpenTable legal team will involve advising the companies on a range of product and privacy legal initiatives and suggestions for its suite of products across the KAYAK and OpenTable brands. This will involve learning about and advising on the privacy aspects of new and modified features for products, identifying and investigating key privacy and regulatory issues, and coordinating with teams to provide practical, actionable advice that mitigates product risk under global laws.

Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with KAYAK and OpenTable product teams to understand and advise on the privacy aspects of new or existing product roadmaps and the operational impacts of such initiatives
• Provide day-to-day pragmatic advice and support to product, engineering and privacy teams as needed
• Review, negotiate and draft product-related agreements, including integration partnership agreements
• Draft public-facing product and privacy disclosures, disclaimers and terms of use
• Work alongside KAYAK and OpenTable privacy and product teams to advise on and implement privacy laws and global regulations, including but not limited to state and federal consumer and privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CPRA, and FTC)
• Develop and maintain subject-matter expertise in privacy and regulatory areas that impact the KAYAK and OpenTable products globally; advise cross-functional teams on the impact of global regulations on our suite of products

Qualifications/Experience:
• J.D. from a nationally or internationally-recognized law school
• Minimum 4 years experience of legal experience with global privacy laws and regulations, with particular emphasis on consumer and marketplace products
• Prior experience working directly with partners throughout an organization including product, engineering, and privacy teams
• Exceptional facility with spotting issues, assessing and communicating risks, making common-sense decisions in the face of ambiguity, and finding flexible/creative solutions to achieve business goals
• Ability to balance multiple matters simultaneously and to respond quickly to shifting priorities under tight deadlines
• Excellent judgment, high integrity, and strong verbal and written communication skills,
• interpersonal skills, and a “can-do” attitude
• Adaptability and openness to taking on tasks in new or unfamiliar areas of the law
• Prior experience working at a technology company a plus (but not required)
• Language skills and/or multijurisdictional experience a plus (but not required)

Skills

• Experience with external Salesforce add-ons involving forecasting and tracking is also a plus
• Advanced Excel skills required, including proficiency with pivot tables and VLOOKUP. Equivalent Google Sheets experience preferred
