asynchronous content and synchronous sessions lead weekly by
adjunct faculty.

Position responsibilities include navigating the 2IR LMS and
facilitating live sessions on the Zoom platform, supporting student
needs, completing all grading, and developing session plans with
faculty coordinators and other section leaders to provide a high
quality interactive learning experience for students. Adjunct
faculty are expected to hold online office hours, provide
assignment feedback, and consult with the designated faculty
coordinators regarding the progress of the class. Live sessions
complement the asynchronous content and adjunct faculty are
expected to develop session activities that incorporate
asynchronous content. Areas of instruction include, but are not
limited to, international relations theory, economics, quantitative
methods, project design, monitoring and evaluation, intercultural
communication, security, foreign policy, international negotiation,
conflict resolution, international development, and
statistics.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a Masters, PhD or a terminal degree
in an applicable field with relevant professional experience.
Teaching experience at the college level is highly preferred though
not required. Course assignments and schedules will depend on the
selected candidate's profile and strengths. Review of applications
will be ongoing and are subject to ongoing budgetary approval and
sufficient course enrollment.

Job Summary

The Counseling Department in
Regent University's School of Psychology and Counseling is accepting
applications for the Assistant/Associate Professor of Counseling position. We seek a person who
can integrate the Christian faith with the counseling profession in an ethical
and competent manner while balancing teaching, research, and service. The position requires evening and summer teaching, and
candidates are expected to exhibit a strong commitment to excellence in
teaching face-to-face, digital distance-based, and hybrid course delivery
modalities. The position will be housed at the main University campus in
Virginia Beach, VA. However, highly qualified remote applicants may also be
considered.

Regent University is one of the

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Counselor
Education and Supervision from a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and
Related Educational Programs (CACREP) accredited program, a clear counselor
professional identity, and licensure as a school counselor and/or LPC/LMFT. The
ideal candidates will be able to teach across the counselor education
curriculum, although their primary responsibility will reside in the masters’ programs. Preference will be given
to experience teaching statistics and research at the doctoral level.

The Counseling Department is
housed in the School of Psychology and Counseling. It offers four CACREP
degree programs (M.A. in CMHC, School and Couple, Marriage and Family
Counseling; both online and face-to-face) and an on-line Ph.D. in Counselor
Education and Supervision. The
Ph.D. program was the first CACREP-accredited doctoral program to be offered
completely within an online format. Faculty and students are active participants
in the American Counseling Association (ACA), Association for Counselor
Education and Supervision (ACES) and other national, regional, and state
organizations, including the Counseling/Counselor Education Track within the
Christian Association for Psychological Studies (CAPS). The programs draw
students from around the country and the world to develop their
counselor identity and skill set within the context of a Christian paradigm and
worldview. Faculty who can articulate the counseling profession through the
lens of the Christian tradition are essential in carrying out the mission of
the school and the university.

Expectations of the full time, core faculty include: 1) a dedication to Christ-centered teaching in all course delivery modalities;
2) maintaining an active scholarly agenda demonstrated through
presentations at national conferences, publications, and research; 3) participation in service
at the program, school, university, and professional levels; 4) advising and mentoring students in graduate
CACREP-accredited programs; and 5) a
willingness to embrace the College and university identity and mission statements
and to subscribe to a statement of Christian faith. Core faculty will also
be required to attend all residencies with online and face-to-face
responsibilities.
