NTV News has an exciting opportunity for a part-time News Production Technician! Our production technicians... are so much more than the title suggests. In this role you will be a key asset to our overall mission, helping us to achieve our vison of being the best news station in the nation.
Responsibilities include:
Audio and/or Camera for our daily newscasts along with:
Setup & teardown of newscasts including (but not limited to):
Studio and set preparation
Maintaining studio (including cleaning)
Lighting
Video Editing
Digital Posting
Graphic creation
Studio Recordings and Live Newscasts
And many other duties as needed in our thriving and busy newsroom
Experience:
Experience is not necessary as we will train the right person, but education and/or internship in television or related field is preferred
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone local, who is hoping to get into the exciting and extremely important world of journalism. From here, you can go anywhere
General Hours:
Local News is a 24/7 operation. Standard shifts include 4:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM. You will not work both mornings and evenings but rather all morning shifts or all evening shifts. As this is a part-time job, working days and/or days off will occasionally change.

In this role, you will be required to produce daily content on a variety of platforms including the internet and social networks, along with performing other duties as assigned by the sports director and news managers. We are looking for someone with a clear understanding of how to... dig for a good story, research it, shoot it, write and edit it with an edge, using strong storytelling and TV production values to make it impactful and memorable. It is important to have strong writing skills and to have knowledge of all sports. Dynamic live television and storytelling skills are a must.
Skills and Experience:
• A self-starter and who can generate his or her own story ideas on a daily basis
• Ability to demonstrate enterprise sports reporting and creativity in storytelling
• Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to maintain an active social media presence to build your brand and solicit original story ideas
• Excellent shooting and editing abilities (preferably using Avid Newscutter)
Requirements and Qualifications:
