Employed by PAGNY for The Division of Correctional Health Services (CHS) of New York City Health + Hospitals (H+H) is responsible for the delivery of medical care, mental health care, and discharge planning in the jail system. Approximately 25% of new admissions per year to the NYC jail system will receive care on the mental health service. This service strives to provide safe, holistic and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for the diverse range of mental health issues that face the population, from serious mental illness to the natural struggles that accompany incarceration. The service provides some of the most comprehensive and unique treatment modalities in the country, including specialty housing units for individuals with serious mental illness, a 24-hour on-call psychiatric service, robust creative arts programming, a strong DBT training program, clinics in each of the facilities, substance use treatment, integrated re- entry services, and relationships with multiple training institutions throughout the city.
• Administer total care (bed bath, partial or complete)
• Assist with patient's personal hygiene - including skin care, mouth care, shaving, etc.
• Transfers patients - in and out of bed, stretcher and wheel chair. Including physical and mechanical lifting
• Positions patients and carry out range of motion exercise
• Assists with ambulating and all ADL as directed
• Prepares patients for meals and assist with feeding as needed
• Assists with unit admission and transfer of patient
• Makes beds and tidies patient area for bed ridden patients
• Takes and document in the electronic medical records all patient's vital signs - B/P, TPR, weights, intake and output and performs EKGs as required and follow outlined procedures for faxing abnormal EKGs
• Performs dry sterile dressing changes and assists with other patient treatment
• Administers hot and cold applications to patients, under supervision
• Maintains intake and output for oral and body excretions
• Notify MD/Nurse Staff of any changes in patient's status
• Performs urine testing by dipstick and fractionalization
• Chaperon staff in all clinical areas when requested
• Maintains competency in nursing skills as detailed in the clinical Performance checklist for Nursing Assistant
• Assist with Nursing Follow-ups and transmit necessary information to laboratory electronically.
• Anticipates and acts to maintain a safe environment
• Performs job functions in a manner that promotes efficient use of resources
• Must wait for relief at change of tour by staff with same title (relieving PCA)
• Document all encounters in Electronic Medical Records
• Complete Encounter forms every shift

Working Conditions :
Because patents require round the clock care, working hours include days, nights weekends and holidays. PCAS are required to stand for long periods of time. Employees are encouraged to safely move patents and use alternative methods whenever possible; alternative methods include requesting assistance to roll/lift/transfer patients. PCAs may face hazards from exposure to chemical and infectious diseases. In addition, they have to treat patients that are confused, irrational, agitated and/or uncooperative.
Schedule: Full-Time, 5 Working days/ Alternate weekend
Evening Tour: 4pm-12am (NIC)
• A four year high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
• Successful completion of a NYS Department of Health prescribed training Program for phlebotomy
• BCLS Certification and Computer Competency required
• HIV Pre and Post Test Counseling training / certification – Preferred.
• Completion of a Patient Care Associates or Nursing Attendant Training with Certification
• EKG Certificate
• Infection Control Certification

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage FISMA security assessments, internal audits and third-party audits for multiple applications Gather, review, and deliver supporting evidence and artifacts for assessments and audits Coordinate, manage and collaborate with various teams within NIC and government to ensure security program requirements are met and delivered on a timely schedule Create, update and maintain security policies, procedures and other related documentation Create, update and maintain Authorization to Operate packages for multiple federal applications Manage and ensure timely remediation of findings documented on the Plan of Actions & Milestones (POA&Ms) Ensure compliance with Continuous Monitoring Program (CMP) for multiple applications Manage responses to any findings of security assessments ADDITIONAL DUTIES Demonstrate strong knowledge in vulnerability testing, operation systems hardening and regulatory compliance, such as PCI-DSS, SOX, HIPAA, NIST, etc. Develop and maintain monthly vulnerability reporting to federal government partners Coordinate and/or run network and application vulnerability scans as needed Develop and manage various security trainings and ensure timely completion by all NIC Federal employees Facilitate and participate in various security testing to include Incident Response, Continuity of Operations and Disaster Recovery Manage various compliance tools and ensure all requests are satisfied in a timely manner Manage penetration testing support for multiple applications Set agendas and facilitate security discussions during internal and external meetings Manage federal background investigation process. Assist new employees in successfully completing process Other duties as assigned EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION Undergraduate degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, or equivalent Minimum of three years of related work experience Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and/or federal security assessments following NIST guidelines Experience with federal agencies is beneficial Professional security certifications such as the ISC2 Certified Authorization Professional (CAP) OTHER QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels, including verbal and written abilities Strong familiarity with technology/web/eCommerce/cybersecurity projects Strong leadership, organizational, and prioritization skills Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision Collaborative style and ability to communicate effectively at all levels Desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Works well with others in a team environment Ability to support the team outside of business hours, as needed Ability to pass a thorough background screening Some work-related travel may be required
