The Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) program is a key part of
NAU New Economy Initiative to prepare more DPT students to stay in
Arizona and work to address the health disparities in the state.
For this initiative to be successful, the DPT program will partner
with our community and academic partners to remove barriers and
increase access to our DPT graduate program.

Job Description

The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Northern Arizona
University, Flagstaff Mountain Campus invites applicants for a
12-month non-tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant
Clinical Professor level. Academic rank of appointment will be
commensurate with qualifications and experiences as guided by
existing department, CHHS and NAU promotion and tenure guidelines.
The position has an anticipated start date of July 1, 2023.

We seek candidates whose professional experience as a physical
therapist has prepared them to support our commitment to serving
the health care needs of Arizona by fostering a diverse community
supported by an equitable, inclusive campus climate that engages
diverse stakeholders in graduate physical therapy education.
Responsibilities will primarily include teaching, scholarship, as
well as service to Arizona communities, NAU, and the PT
profession.

Minimum Qualifications
• A professional doctorate (DPT) - earned from a regionally
accredited institution.
• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a physical
therapist.
• Must be authorized to work in the US and eligible to obtain PT
licensure in Arizona.

Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated commitment to work with people of diverse cultural
backgrounds.
• Experience in working with rural, Indigenous- Native American
populations and/or in pro-bono physical therapy services.
• Experience with and desire for interprofessional
practice/education.
• Experience and desire to work in a diverse collaborative
team.
• Experience with tele-health/rehabilitation
• Experience in health care administration/leadership
• An American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS)
certification or certification credentials appropriate for their
teaching responsibilities.
• Prior classroom/laboratory teaching experience in the

conditions
• with neurological health conditions
• A terminal academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc, etc.) or
equivalent in a closely related biomedical science field to
physical therapy from an accredited institution.

This is a Faculty (FAC) position. NAU offers an excellent benefit

Job Description

Under the general direction of the Assistant Director for Utility
Services, the Manager, Utilities and Central Plant
Operations oversees 2- 24/7 operation Central Heating and
Cooling Plants. The Central plant and distribution equipment
include high-pressure power boilers up to 243,000 lbs. /hr. steam
capacity and 96 MMBtu HTHW capacity, centrifugal chillers up to
4500 tons capacity, and auxiliary components. The near-term
expansion includes the addition of an ice chiller for an ice rink
and potential thermal storage. Long-term master planning may
involve the conversion to a low-temperature hot water distribution
system. This position exists to aid and assist Facility Services'
mission to the University by providing distributed energy to the
Campus community, exercising fiscal responsibility, reporting on
leading-edge technology, and practicing sustainable maintenance and
operations.

This position is responsible for operating and maintaining all
central plant equipment, including boilers, chillers, and
associated equipment per the American Society of Mechanical
Engineers (ASME), the Arizona Department of Occupational Safety
(ADOSH), and other applicable regulatory organizations codes and
standards, resulting in a safe and comfortable working, living and
learning environment for the university campus. Maintains NAU's
district energy system of approximately 7 miles of tunnels and
direct buried pipe systems to deliver steam, high-temperature hot
water, and chilled water to campus buildings. Operates valves,
controls, and other central plant equipment to control air, gas,
water, and steam flow while maintaining temperatures and pressures
at designated levels following the American Boiler Manufacturers
Association (ABMA) instructions, chiller manufacturer instructions,
and University standards. The role requires replacing and
maintaining minor piping and control components associated with the
plant production and distribution systems. This position is
autonomous, requiring the supervisor to rely heavily on their own
experience and knowledge.

Supervising, Coordinating, and Communication - 40%
• Maintains effective communication with other operators and
fostering a team relationship that allows for collaborative problem
solving and process improvement.
• Supervises the central plant heating and cooling operation to
ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
• Acts as a subject matter expert when mentoring and assigning
work to others ensuring to monitor and evaluate the execution of
work.
• Responsible for employee hiring, training, performance
evaluations, and recommendations for performance improvements.
• Monitors and schedules the activities of plant personnel.
• Leads and supervises staff through daily interactions, goal
setting, and performance assessment activities to achieve
individual and department-level goals and objectives.
• Applies safety standards and maintains good housekeeping
practices to provide safe working conditions; reports problems
affecting plant safety to proper safety officials and the head of
Utility Services.
• Interpret university and department policies to assigned
personnel and enforce safety regulations and adhere to proper codes
and standards.
• Directs others to gather, analyze, and model various scenarios
related to the central utility plant systems to include in reports
and recommendations.
• Provides guidance, feedback, and disciplinary action as needed
and appropriate.
• Manages and coordinates all job and site-specific safety
requirements, hazard assessments, mandatory training, and
procedures for plant staff.
• Willingness to consult EH&S and consultants on improving
safety processes and procedures.
• Proactively participates in accident prevention efforts for
employees and promptly responds to injuries and accidents to modify
activities and prevent further accidents.

Budgeting, Planning and Reporting - 30%
• Creates reports on budget, equipment history, staffing levels,
energy usage, peak usage, and other pertinent information to inform
management of current and future needs.
• Collaborates with the Associate Director of Utility Services to
prepare capital and operating budgets for the utility plant
operations, maintenance, and staffing.
• Responsible for maintaining and managing budgets.
• Prepares reports on campus utility consumption, central plant
operations, and efficiencies.
• Develops long and short-term plans for labor, equipment,
operation, and maintenance requirements.
• Investigates and research intending to recommend emerging
technologies for centralized heating, cooling, combined heat and
power, and other technologies related to district energy.
• Takes a proactive role in promoting and supporting the Facility
Service department and campus' mission and vision.
• Actively maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry practices
related to higher education and utility operations, energy
efficiency, safety, and OSHA changes.

• Holds staff accountable to new work methods or procedures,

Equipment Maintenance, Repair, and Documentation - 20%
• Provides planning and oversite for predictive, preventative,
and reactionary maintenance and repair of the utility plants, and
distribution equipment.
• Ensures proper documentation encompassing all efforts regarding
maintenance and repairs.
• Evaluates requests for repair and modifications of central
plant equipment and systems.
• Determines the causes of malfunctions, the extensiveness of
repair or alterations required.
• Verifies the procedures and methods of corrective actions and
the cost feasibility, timetables, and priority in terms of central
plant capabilities, capacities, and usage.
• Coordinates and plans the completion of repair and modification
projects with contractors, vendors, and maintenance support
services.
• Programs control computer with load information.
• Inspects central plant equipment for proper and safe
operation.
• Develops, monitors, and adjusts plant planned maintenance
programs.
• Prepares specifications and designs for the repair,
modification, and installation of central plant equipment and
systems.
• Monitors maintenance and repair efforts, ensures daily logs and
recordkeeping are accurate, up to date, and complete for all plant
equipment, including the plant water. laboratory, the high-quality
water distiller, and emergency generator, in addition to the
boilers, refrigeration machines, pumps, towers, and plant
auxiliaries.

Collaboration with Campus Partners - 5%
• Assists with Planning, Design, and Construction projects,
Facilities Trades, or other University Departments.
• Coordinates with the management of other departments in
reviewing their facility utility requirements as it relates to
central plant operations in terms of equipment, system, and
usage.
• Coordinates the emergency response for central plant production
and distribution systems.
• Coordinates with engineers, suppliers, contractors, and other
related personnel concerning existing and new equipment, components
and/or parts related to the central plant operations to ensure
objectives and needs of the central plant are met; initiates
purchase requisitions.
• Participates in Manager on Call Program.

Minimum Qualifications
• Accredited degree in related field or completion of a technical
training.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience.

Job Description

The Director for Enrollment Management University Admissions
Arizona Recruitment will provide leadership, direction,
supervision, and implementation of a comprehensive recruitment
strategy that is continuously assessed and refined and consistent
with the goals, mission, and resources of the university. The
Director will work directly and collaboratively with EM
Communications Team, EM Analytics & Assessment, Student
Services Center, Scholarship and Financial Aid, Housing and
Residence Life, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and other
institutional leadership to advancing the university's
mission.

Unit Management - 40%
• Supports and upholds the university's stated mission and
values.
• Implements the institution's enrollment plan for all campuses,
including oversight for the recruitment and admission efforts for
all student populations and for specific degree seeking populations
including first-generation, multicultural, non-traditional,
transfer, and graduate students.
• Counsels, guides, and advises prospective students and families
in the completion of complex admission and financial aid forms,
admission requirements, transfer guidelines, cost of attendance,
financial aid programs, and various other student and enrollment
related services, programs and opportunities.
• Develops and supervises recruitment programs of the highest
quality.
• Promotes cooperation, collaboration, and partnerships with
other institutions, including high schools, community colleges, and
four-year institutions.
• Reviews, develops, maintains and administers policies and
procedures related to recruitment, transcripts, and admissions
evaluation.
• Collaborates in the execution of application processes,
creation and evaluation of student records, and resolution of
issues/concerns of internal and external constituents in a timely
and accurate manner.
• Understand institutional, state, and federal financial aid
policies and practices to ensure obtainment of strategic enrollment
goals.

Strategic Planning and Data Analytics - 20%
• Assists VP - EM and AVP - EM in initiating efforts to evaluate
and develop new initiatives to increase enrollment or to meet
objectives. Consciously considers recruitment and admission
strategies to both increase yield of current prospective student
populations and expand into new student populations, including
participating in identifying emerging markets.
• Assists VP - EM and AVP - EM in establishing strategic goals
and objectives for University Admissions.
• Collaborates with EM Analytics and Assessment in goal setting,
monitoring recruitment efforts, and enrollment goals.
• Leverages the use of technology to streamline processes.
• Ensures the effective integration of CRM and other data with
directed marketing/ communications strategies through the use of
data analytics.

Personnel Management/Budget - 20%
• Manages staffing and operations for multiple University
Admissions recruitment and orientation teams.
• Oversees the effective use of technology and human resources in
all departmental functional areas to increase efficiency,
productivity, and service to internal and external
constituents.
• Assesses and evaluates the quality and effectiveness of
functional area programs, policies, and procedures.
• Provides professional development opportunities for department
staff.
• Utilizes vendors and external products to enhance the
university's recruitment effort and develops and maintains
relationships with vender/product representatives.
• Assists AVP - EM in management of the Admissions state and
local operating budgets.

Support Department and Division Priorities - 15%
• Collaborates with:
• High Schools throughout the state of Arizona
• Sister institutions
• University departments and community colleges to Integrate
pathways from two-year colleges and other institutions to NAU
programs.
• Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid to coordinate
financial aid strategies to further recruitment and admissions
goals and institutional priorities.
• Academic Affairs leaders to promote enrollment management as a
comprehensive, integrated approach toward improving student
recruitment and retention.
• The Graduate College and the Center for International Education
to coordinate and integrate recruitment and admissions strategies
for graduate student and international student populations.
• Represents the department on various committees, work groups,
and employee forums.
• Stays current on local, regional, and national trends
pertaining to area of assignment.

Other - 5%
• Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a
Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with progressive
responsibility in enrollment management and/or admissions.
• 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Any combination of relevant education and experience may be
substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year
basis.

Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree or doctorate in a Higher Education or related
degree/field.
• Demonstrated recruiting, enrollment and admissions experience
serving first-year freshman and transfer populations; traditional,
non-traditional and online populations; and undergraduate and
graduate populations.
• Demonstrated understanding of the primary functional areas of
admissions and experience managing staff.
• Detailed understanding of the processes to capture and manage
student records in an enterprise student system.
• Experience using analytics and data analysis to support
decision making and goal setting.
• Extensive experience managing large department of staff with
several functional areas.
• Extensive experience with data analytics, including compiling
and analyzing data from CRM, data warehouse, and/or other
enterprise information systems.
• Detailed understanding of functionality and processes related
to PeopleSoft and CRM systems.

Background Information

This position has been identified as a safety/security sensitive
position. Therefore, per AZ Revised Statute, Northern Arizona
University requires satisfactory results for the following: a
criminal background investigation, employment history
investigation, degree verification (in some cases) and

Salary

Salary range begins at $95,809. Annual salary commensurate with
candidate's qualifications and related experience.

FLSA Status

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair
Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore will not earn overtime or
compensatory time for additional time worked.

This is a Service Professional (SPF) position. NAU offers an

System or the Optional Retirement Program; 22 days of vacation and
10 holidays per year; and tuition reduction for employees and

choose to participate in the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP), which
is an alternative to the ASRS plan for faculty and other appointed
staff, will begin to participate on the first day of employment.
Additionally, the long-term disability plan that accompanies the
ORP will begin on the first day of employment.
