Collections Specialist

Maverick Bankcard, Inc. is a full-service payments provider located in Calabasas, CA. Specializing in electronic payments and business management software tools, Maverick also handles all underwriting, onboarding, risk, and compliance functions in-house.

The Collections Department is responsible for supporting all collection related items/duties for Maverick. Reporting to the Director of Settlement and Clearing, the Collections Specialist will provide support for the collection and Automated Clearinghouse (“ACH”) reject functions.

Essential Functions

90% - Directly perform Collection functions including, without limitation:

· Maintaining system holds, which includes, without limitation, placing, removing and monitoring holds on customer activity related to ACH rejects/Collection scenarios.

· Actively monitoring accounts related to collections activities.

· Communicating essential information to partners/merchants and maintaining appropriate business etiquette throughout interactions with partners/merchants;

· Handling incoming calls from partners/merchants and working directly with external and internal personnel to resolve any issues which may arise within the relationship related to collections/ACH rejects.

· Performing outbound calls related to ACH rejects/collections to partners/merchants in order to notify, educate, and resolve any outstanding ACH rejects/collections.

· Effectively communicating methods of ACH reject/collections resolutions, including but not limited to collecting payments etc., to various parties including partners and merchant customers.

· Entering data into Company systems, including, without limitation, updated customer account information related to ACH rejects/collections, pending items, etc.

· Navigating multiple computer system interfaces to key application information into the Company’s systems accurately and in a timely manner.

· Responding to inquiries from outside collection agencies; and

· Performing other duties as assigned.

Non-Essential Functions

10% - Supporting specialized projects on as-needed basis as directed by Department or Company leadership.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

· Must be able to work alone for extended periods of time.
