Position description
The Patient Appointment Services Specialist is responsible for independently creating and scheduling appointments within the electronic medical record for a complex, multispecialty medical practice. This is supported by gathering patient-specific demographic and provider information to accurately assess the nature of the request and determine the appropriate appointment area; properly advising patients regarding the need for co-payments, referral authorizations, and/or pre-service deposits to ensure the patient arrives on time and is prepared for their procedure or visit; and collecting all Guarantor and insurance details needed to help assess patient eligibility. Through this process, the Patient Appointment Services Specialist responds to and interacts with a variety of individuals including patients, customers, referring physicians, Mayo providers, allied health staff and family members. Appropriate interpretation and application of Mayo policies regarding scheduling criteria and medical need are essential. To provide exceptional service, the Patient Appointment Services Specialist is required to navigate multiple systems simultaneously and is expected to be available or talking with patients and healthcare professionals 80 percent of the day, with the ability to service inquiries without consultation. This requires working with several complex scheduling work flows, managing telephone calls, online requests, and/or fax requests. Accuracy and thoroughness in all patient related activities including electronic communication, is critical.
This role requires flexibility which may include cross-coverage and travel depending on location. Position may be eligible for and/or required to telework based on location, work unit and business need. For all positions it is required to be on-site for at least 6 months to one year before teleworking could be an option. Hours may vary and additional time or overtime may be required to meet workload requirements.

Qualifications
High school diploma/GED and minimum two years’ customer service experience in an environment requiring multi-tasking, such as a call center, administrative/physician's office, appointment scheduler or retail/ service industry; OR Associate’s Degree. Individuals without relevant medical education or medical experience will be required to successfully complete a Medical Terminology course within six months of employment.

Additional qualifications
Qualified candidates must be customer-focused, service-oriented, possess strong verbal/written communication skills, and have the ability to trouble shoot, problem solve and balance conflicting demands. Role requires independent decision making and sound judgment capabilities, with a strong attention to detail and follow through. A demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, manage difficult and emotional situations, remains calm under stress, display empathy and maintain positive communication is also required. Must have strong keyboarding and computer skills. Demonstrates basic understanding of insurance terminology.

This position will improve and automate financial analytics related to Mayo Clinic's Advanced Care at Home (ACH) service. Experience with financial modeling and reporting of ACH and with delivery to customers in visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is preferred.

Success in this role will require the ability to lead and direct analytics projects through all analytics project stages: Business Understanding, Data Understanding, Data Acquisition and Preparation, Visualization/Model Development, Deployment, Maintenance, and Retirement. Preference will be given to candidates with healthcare finance analytics experience. The successful candidate must be able to bring data analytics projects to successful conclusion by performing analytics solution development as well as guiding fellow team members on task completion. Position description
Provides direction to professional and supervisory staff in the Revenue Cycle. Participates in strategic planning for the Enterprise Revenue Cycle. Translates the Mayo Clinic and departmental vision into meaningful and effective responses and results. Delegates responsibility and authority to carry out work. Manages multiple functions and serves as a resource with oversight in day to day activities. May manage multi-site operations. May possess technical knowledge appropriate to functions being managed with additional knowledge in other functions including professional management. Participates in the identification of opportunities to improve processes and to act as a catalyst for realizing these improvements. Acts as a facilitator and generator of new ideas and a mediator on difficult issues. Brings awareness of current external environment issues.
Participates in the overall management of the Enterprise Revenue Cycle by chairing and serving on Enterprise projects/groups, task forces, councils and committees.
Serves as a liaison between sections and other departments and agencies inside and outside Mayo. Creates customer service driven sections and fosters collaboration with physician and administrative colleagues. Builds teamwork within the Enterprise Revenue Cycle. Participates in retention planning initiatives. Travel required as assignments warrant.

The position will have direct responsibility for Transplant Financial Clearance.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 8 years' experience, which includes at least 2 years of relevant financial leadership experience OR
Master’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience, which includes at least 2 years of relevant financial leadership experience
OR
In lieu of bachelor's degree, 12 years' of relevant experience is required, which includes 2 years of relevant financial leadership may be considered.

Additional qualifications
Health care revenue cycle leadership experience preferred.-Relevant certification(s).
Master's degree preferred.

Position description
The department of surgery is looking for someone that is enthusiastic and dependable to help in our research surgery support area. Duties would include preparing supplies for animal surgeries, billing, ordering of supplies, cleaning, protocol modifications, sending supplies for gas sterilization, organization of operating room, stocking of supplies ordered, scheduling of surgeries, and communication with private investigator staff. Work schedule is flexible, no weekends required. Previous lab animal experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications
Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Additional qualifications
Additional relevant laboratory experience and familiarity with animal welfare practices preferred. Computer experience is helpful. Must have the ability to carry out basic routine techniques independently, and have a desire to work closely with lab animals. Must have above average manual dexterity, be able to endure exposures to heat, noise, dust, dander, animal bites, and chemicals.

The science editor inspires principal-level gifts ($1M+) for Mayo Clinic’s top priorities by conveying complex biomedical and technical topics in compelling ways. As a member of the Development Communications team, this role leads content development for science-driven benefactor proposals, stewardship reports, magazine articles and multimedia assets while also editing peer content and bolstering the team’s overall science writing acumen.

The science editor builds meaningful relationships with Mayo Clinic’s priority leaders and world-class experts to understand how Mayo’s translational model of research is differentiated and poised to solve unmet patient needs. In addition, the science editor applies their subject matter expertise to advance Development business objectives in collaboration with Mayo Clinic executive leadership, fundraising professionals, functional Development programs and staff in adjacent departments, such as Communications, Marketing and the Executive Office.

Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a related field plus 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a field such as biomedical research, health care, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals or life sciences; or a Master’s degree plus 5 years of relevant work experience

Additional qualifications
Strong written and oral communication skills across various mediums. Ability to communicate in a way that creates clarity, simplifies messages, and aligns with organizational strategy. Knowledge of channels for communication and the ability to build effective communication and engagement strategies. Experience in fundraising or nonprofit communications is strongly preferred but not required.
