Marathon Targets designs, manufactures, and operates autonomous robotic target systems to provide the most realistic live fire training in the world. The targets address a... fundamental training gap: the first time that shooters fire live ammunition at a realistic moving target is during a real firefight.
This role is the first in the company that is specifically focused on US Government (USG) contracts - predominantly with DoD.
Tasks
Primary tasks include:
• Generation of regular contractually required deliverables (CDRLs) and invoices on both sub and prime USG contracts.
• Assistance in development and preparation of solicitation documents for USG RFP and RFI responses.
• Review contract activities at pre-solicitation and award phase for risk and compliance assessment.
• Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS contracting principles across all stages of bidding, award, execution, and phase out for USG contracts.
• Protect the company's interests and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze/resolve technical and administrative problems involving contracts.
• Regular interaction with finance, accounting, business development and senior management.
Qualifications/Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Management, or a related discipline or have significant relevant experience if non-degreed
• 5 or more years of USG contract management experience that reflects increased responsibilities and the ability to work with others.
• Knowledge of the FAR and DFARS.
• Must be organized and detail-oriented, and must demonstrate strong time management skills and be able to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage shifting priorities.
• Must be able to develop and maintain professional relationships with peers, vendors and customers, and contribute to a professional work environment by demonstrating integrity, teamwork and a positive attitude.
• Must have excellent Google Suite, MS Word and MS Excel skills.
• Current security clearance, or ability to obtain one.
• US Military or Law Enforcement background is a bonus.

• Upon hire an intern would be onboarded as all new employees include HES orientation, vehicle orientation, LOTO training, web-based training, and ride along training.
• Marathon will provide the following PPE: Safety glasses, hard hat, FR clothing, 1 pair steel toe boots, and 4 gas personal alarm monitor.
• The intern will be assigned a mentor to ride along with and work with until he/she is deemed competent to travel alone and be able to take on small projects.
• The Intern will be assigned a list of summer projects.
• The Intern will be assigned to learn about basic engineering design documentation such as P&ID’s, PFD’s, C&E’s, Plot Plans, Electrical One Line diagrams and schematics with the MRO Electrical Controls Engineer.
• Gain familiarity with Emerson products such as pressure transmitters, guided wave radar, level switches etc.
• Gain familiarity with artificial lift regarding startups and instrumentation for plunger and Gas lift operations
• The Intern would become knowledgeable with Maintenance and Reliability on Profire Burner Management Systems for heater treaters and flares, actuated valves, Instrument air compressors and oil, water and gas meter calibrations.
• Potential projects would include:
• Being exposed to logic and control of the following. Emerson FB3000, Emerson ROC 800, Emerson FB107, Beijer HMI, Redlion HMI and Networking solutions (Serial, TCP/IP, Modbus/Hart Protocol).
• Tuning of P&ID loops to control flow on automated valves.
