Overview of Position:

Provide strategic leadership as a member of the Executive Management Team to establish long-range goals and strategies for culturally responsive, trauma-informed survivor services. Direct services programs and personnel, and represent LifeWire services and survivor needs in the community. Provide the highest level of professional experience and independent judgment to complex planning and problem-solving in collaboration with LifeWire’s staff and board and partners.

Key Responsibilities:
• As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, advise on long-range planning and provide strategic leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
• Provide strategic leadership for services including survivor advocacy services, legal advocacy, community advocacy and mental health counseling.
• Ensure that LifeWire provides survivor-driven and trauma-informed services in alignment with values, vision, mission, and service philosophy and in accordance with funding requirements.
• Manage development and implementation of agency policies, procedures, internal controls, and systems to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of service delivery.
• Actively manage the services team using a person-centered approach and ensure team members are trained, supervised and accountable. Develop team members to work well independently and as part of a team. Take corrective action when appropriate. Foster a work environment of trust and transparency.
• Support Managers and Advocates to strengthen skills in supporting survivor needs.
• Respond to urgent and emergency concerns during normal business hours and after-hours as needed. Rotate on call shifts for emergency and after-hours response with managers.
• Resolve escalated survivor and staff concerns in concert with Housing Director as needed
• Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, monitoring revenue, expenses, program performance, and outcomes to ensure excellent, quality programs.
• Support the Data Analyst to monitor and review the accuracy and timeliness of service data collection. Conduct outcome measurement and use applicable evaluation tools.
• Remain current on local and national trends in supporting survivor-driven programs and make recommendations to enhance LifeWire’s service performance.
• Ensure services accountability for achieving outcome data and project goals; meeting financial documentation and workflow needs; and complying with contract requirements.
• Build successful relationships with contract monitors and manage operations to comply with contracts and legal requirements.
• Oversee volunteer and intern training and activities as they relate to survivor services.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with partner organizations and other stakeholders. Represent LifeWire’s services and survivor needs in the DV and broader community.
• Work collaboratively with the Development Department to present LifeWire to the public in an effective manner.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience in Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault advocacy and services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Multilingual skills are valued. Fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, Russian, Vietnamese, or Korean is highly desirable.
• Experience, skill, and willingness to work with a culturally and linguistically diverse team.
• Strong commitment to LifeWire’s mission and values with an understanding of domestic violence.
• Experience managing a team and directing service delivery, preferably in a non-profit environment.
• Substantial experience in program design and implementation.

Co-Executive Director of Organizational Operations (position hiring for):
• Demonstrated experience in oversight of operational aspects of social service nonprofit organization including finance, HR, and fund development.
• Budget and financial management experience including managing multiple funding sources and grants; demonstrating skill to quickly learn financial processes.
• Staff management experience, including understanding of employment rights and relevant laws.
• Fundraising expertise: Understands how fundraising and finance intersect, demonstrated success in fundraising strategy; past experience with grant writing and pursuing grant opportunities.

Co-Executive Director of Survivor-Driven Services (filled):
• Demonstrated leadership experience in the human services field with prior program oversight in social services and housing. Seattle/King County experience a plus.
• Prior direct service experience in an agency serving survivors of domestic violence, approached through a trauma-informed lens. Knowledgeable of crisis management and de-escalation techniques.
• Finance and contracting: some knowledge of how programs and finance connect, program budgeting and monitoring, contracts, and compliance paperwork.
• Knowledge of and experience in legislative, legal, and policy issues related to and affecting support services and housing for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors at the local, state, and federal level.
