JOB RESPONSIBILITIES...
• Provide research and instructional support to students, faculty, and the college community in an online environment.
• Provide virtual reference services through email, phone, and live chat.
• Create and maintain LibGuides, videos/tutorials, and instructional learning objects that develop students' knowledge and expertise in library resources and enhance their research experience.
• Utilize a wide range of electronic resources including LibGuides, databases, websites, and eBooks.
• Perform related tasks as requested, delegated, or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to facilitate student-driven learning in the information-seeking process.
• Familiarity with LibChat, LibAnswers, and LibGuides; or similar products.
• Experience with instructional technologies and eLearning authoring tools used to support and enhance effective teaching and learning
• Comprehensive knowledge of, and navigational ability with library databases, electronic book delivery platforms, learning management systems, library automation software, and other relevant technology used to manage and deliver library services online
• Awareness of current developments in the library profession, national standards and guidelines, and the changing landscape of Higher Education.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a team environment.

Position Summary
Delaware County Community College is seeking Adjunct Reference Librarians for our campuses.
Adjunct Reference Librarians at Delaware County Community College are responsible for providing reference and research instruction to students, faculty, and staff. This includes staffing library reference according to departmental needs; providing individual, group, and classroom
instruction; and developing supporting instructional materials. In addition, adjunct librarians are
expected to work on special projects as assigned. Adjunct
reference librarians are required to attend departmental meetings.
Library shifts can range from 15-20 hours per week.

Essential Functions
Essential Functions:
Reference: Provide reference and research instruction based on the staffing needs of the
Learning Commons and Library Services. Instruct students, faculty, and staff in the general use
of library material and accessing online information resources. Deliver reference and research
instruction in-person in the Learning Commons, by telephone, and virtually through chat, email,
and SMS services.
Instruction: Provide individual, group, and classroom information literacy and research
instruction in all modalities, including course-integrated classes, online and in-person
workshops, and other formats based on the staffing needs of the Learning Commons and Library
Services. Create educational materials to support instructional activities.
Special Projects: Create library-specific educational material including handouts, guides, and
tutorials. Project could include: developing and revising existing citation handouts and
corresponding LibGuides. Maintaining and updating existing subject and course LibGuides.
Developing new LibGuides based on the needs of the College community. Developing new
tutorials and revising and/or updating existing tutorials based on the needs of the College
community. Expanding existing LibAnswers content and managing this content. Collecting and
organizing Library Services and Learning Commons statistics. Other projects (such as cataloguing and archiving) are based on the needs of Library Services and the Learning Commons and professional background.
Experience & Education
The ideal candidate must have: -
• Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
• Experience with Sirsi, and Springshare's LibGuides platform.
• Experience with instructional technologies, learning management systems, digital archiving, and the design of digital learning content.
• Experience providing cataloguing support
• Ability to work with a diverse library staff and community college constituency.
• Service-oriented, positive attitude, and good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
• Ability to work independently under minimal direct supervision.
• Committed to professional development.
• Ability to meet set deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of two years of experience in an academic library setting providing reference and instruction instructional services.
• Experience with Springshare's LibAnswers, LibWizard, and LibInsight platforms.
• Experience with Canvas.
• Experience developing and maintaining tutorials.
• Experience teaching in an online, synchronous environment.
