JOB SUMMARY

Professional Learning Managers design, update, and maintain Professional Learning content for Code.org. In this role you will help teachers gain the knowledge, preparation, and confidence to bring computer science to their classrooms with a commitment to equity and making computer science a topic that anyone can teach.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role you will:

Design and refine the end-to-end content and resources for PL experiences (e.g. in-person workshop, virtual workshop, or self-paced experience), ensuring that the content meets the needs of the intended audience.
In collaboration with the Programs team, develop and advise on materials to prepare facilitators to successfully run PL workshops, and participate in facilitator trainings as needed.
Seek and maintain expertise in the current and upcoming versions of one or more of Code.org's curricular offerings.
Collaborate cross functionally to ensure that changes to the curriculum and learning tools are accurately reflected in professional learning content.
Co-develop surveys, lead focus groups, and gather feedback from colleagues and external reviewers to inform product design.
Analyze data and feedback to create prioritized roadmaps of changes to content.
Coordinate with Product Managers and Engineers on the development/refinement of tools that support the facilitation of and participation in professional learning experiences.
Partner with members of the Programs and Adoption team to support work in designing and increasing uptake of the Professional Learning program.
Present information about professional learning products internally and externally.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

We seek candidates who have:

5+ years of experience designing engaging in-person professional development or training experiences for adult learners.
Experience leading in-person or virtual professional development workshops for adult learners in a variety of settings.
Comfort with the foundational concepts of computer science and programming with competency in at least one block/text based programming language.
Competent project manager with experience managing one or more complex projects with multiple components.
Experience analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to iteratively improve a professional development experience or other related experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and empathetic approach to problem solving
Deep understanding of and dedication to equity and best practices to support equitable classroom environments, and experience with conversations and issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The ability to thrive and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
A Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.

We prefer candidates who also have:

Experience teaching computer science and/or facilitating computer science professional learning workshops.
Experience as an instrucational coach.
Masters degree or higher in Education or related field.

In addition, candidates must:

Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Pass a pre-employment background check
Be willing to travel a minimum of two times per year for team events
