We are looking for a Product Manager who leads the product strategy for how Jama Software wins in the market, prioritizes what gets built, and what defines success. The Product Manager focuses on long-running product initiatives but shares ownership of the product and leads the business constraints to their initiatives. The role provides insight into where Jama Software should be taking the product from a business value and user value perspective keeps teams adequately supplied with a healthy, well-defined backlog, and builds trust with team members by being direct, open, and honest about what can be delivered.
You will contribute directly to a critical area of our product roadmap and work with key team members to help define product innovation strategy and bring new, differentiated capabilities to market. You will work closely with Product Marketing, Engineering, Business Development, and Customer Success to shape and support the business needs of our customers in regulated and unregulated industries.
What You'll Do:
• Acts as primary subject matter expert and leads the product strategy and roadmap for assigned segments of the Jama Software product line.
• Builds business cases and product requirements documentation to rationalize and define new development projects.
• Manages feature iteration and collaborates with the scrum team throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborates with Product Design on concepts and prototypes, and Engineering on development execution.
• Develops a deep understanding of client needs and market trends, through client interaction and other market research.
• Communicate the product roadmap for assigned areas with critical team members.
What You'll Bring:
• 3 to 5 years of software product management experience.
• Experience working iteratively in an agile or lean environment, and able to break down large problems into smaller valuable increments.
• Demonstrated, measurable success in launching and managing innovative products or product features to drive customer delight and revenue growth.
• Excels working self-directed, within a fast-paced environment – individually, in small teams, or across functional groups.
• Understanding of technical integrations between SaaS applications, including third-party tools/services that can accelerate innovation initiatives.
Nice to Have:
• Experience in enterprise software.
• Product Management certification (Pragmatic Institute or other).
• Demonstrated ability in systems engineering, particularly in regulated industries, is preferred as Jama’s customers build critical hardware/software systems.
• Customer-centric with a focus on building customer relationships.
• Data-Driven decision making
• Outstanding communication skills and ability to work with diverse roles across company and with customers.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, taking initiative to seek internal and external resources when problem-solving.
