The Capital & Investment Risk Management (C&IR) team within Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is looking for a Quantitative Risk Analyst to support business initiatives in a highly collaborative environment.
As a quantitative risk Analyst, you will be involved with quantitative model implementation, development, and analysis. The ideal candidate will work with a quant team (Developers and Analysts) to enhance ERM s analytical and reporting capabilities, by designing and developing new tools and risk frameworks.
This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with the portfolio managers, asset managers, traders and analysts for the general account (through the CIO s organization) and *** s asset management subsidiaries; and enterprise technology (including data science) teams.
The Team
The Capital & Investment Risk Management team is responsible for the identification, measurement and analysis of *** s portfolio, credit and capital risks. The team recommends risk management strategies and equips senior leadership with information they need to take advantage of opportunities and mitigate risks. Members of the team bring expertise and experience across a range of risk measurement and management disciplines, focused continuous improvement and development and business acumen.

The Overall Responsibilities
• Implement, develop, and enhance ERM s analytical capabilities related to credit/market risk across a wide range of fixed income asset classes.
• Building on *** s current approach, assist in developing and syndicating a comprehensive framework for measuring portfolio credit & market risk, that considers different accounting and capital regimes, including asset and liability impacts, with a particular emphasis on economic capital
• Build meaningful reports by asset class and comprehensive level, collaborating with the quant development and IT/engineering teams
• Use of Python/ SQL. Also, use of spreadsheets and VBA to do prototyping and analyze data
• Data investigation/cleanup.
• Expand the use of Moody s credit risk tools in place at *** today
• Strengthen ERM s use and development of tools and analytics to support derivatives counterparty risk & portfolio concentration risk
• You will scope and implement modeling, including building out requirements where not yet fully defined or understood. You will be agile, accountable, and resilient in driving results

The Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in investment (credit/market) quantitative risk analytics
• Moderate level skills in Python and SQL
• Quantitative model development & implementation skills and ability to validate analytical results
• Experience in quantitative risk modeling across a wide range of asset classes
• Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline
• Desire to use your quantitative and programming skills in a hands-on setting to deliver new functionality
The Ideal Qualifications
• 5-7 or more years of relevant work experience is desirable
• Master s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, engineering, or similar quantitative discipline is preferred
• Knowledge and experience working with derivatives and hedging risk management
• Experience in using Moody s Analytics credit risk tools is desirable
• Experience in CECL compliant portfolio credit models
• Previous experience working on liability driven investing projects within an insurance company is desirable
• Experience applying machine learning techniques in the financial industry is desirable
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, engineering, or similar quantitative discipline is required

Responsibilities:
• Support the integration of ESG analysis into fundamental credit research across the Investment Grade and Non-Investment Grade corporate credit research teams
• Work directly with research analysts to assist in the ongoing maintenance of the team's ESG ratings system
• Identify emerging ESG topics which may become material to credit risk and work with credit analysts and portfolio managers to evaluate the impact on issuers and portfolios
• Research sector and issuer specific engagement topics and provide support to the research analysts discussing these topics with issuer management teams
• Systematically track key performance indicators (KPIs) associated with established engagement goals
• Monitor changes in industry and portfolio company disclosure practices and benchmark how these practices compare to peer issuers
• Develop strong working knowledge of available ESG data sources including expertise in the utilization and interpretation of ESG related data

Qualifications:
• Interest in ESG investing, sustainability or impact investing with a focus on how ESG related factors impact credit quality and investment decisions
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other data analytics
• Self-starter with strong analytical, organizational, writing, and project management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including synthesizing research and conceptual work into actionable and presentable deliverables

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
• Manages the day-to-day aspects and oversight of investing the holding company’s short term cash, cash equivalents, and investments; responsibilities include review of portfolio holdings, compliance with investment policy, compliance with internal risk, and serves as the main point of contact with any external investment management firms
• Reports on portfolio performance including portfolio holdings, investment income, maturity distribution, performance diversification, and allocations, which will be used to make key portfolio related decisions; develops reports using Bloomberg, Aladdin, FAM & Treasury Management System
• Optimizes net investment income with capital preservation within prudent risk framework; practices strong risk management skills in managing holding company liquidity
• Provides close oversight and management of separately managed accounts and represents Aflac with key banking partnerships
• Leads Treasury’s ESG and Impact investing efforts
• Leads Treasury’s Tax Credit investment efforts, both State and Federal
• Performs short-term investment policy drafting and maintenance; documents and maps short-term investment processes, recommends improvements, monitors policies and procedures for compliance; compiles and prepares data; identifies long-term process improvement strategies

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $185,000.

Role & Responsibilities:
• Have quarterly check-in calls (at a minimum) with a subset of the Techstars portfolio CEOs.
• Identify needs of the companies, and help direct Techstars resources into the companies as appropriate.

Qualifications:
• Has 5 years of exposure to early stage investing. Understands and feels comfortable with term sheets, round dynamics, investment deals, and investment fund strategies and can talk knowledgeably about them.
• Is comfortable using software such as Salesforce, Google apps, excel - or at very minimum is a fast learner and does not fear technology.
• Has EXCELLENT people skills. Is candid, transparent, comfortable having difficult conversations and providing open yet respectful feedback to CEOs and founders, has deep emotional intelligence, can navigate complex social situations, and has a love of working with people who are driven, creative, and sometimes challenging.
• Intellectually honest, creative, curious, eager to learn, eager to teach.
• Is not afraid to ask for help, to admit they don’t know something, and to work collaboratively.
• Experience working at a seed or small venture capital fund is a plus but not a requirement.
• Self-starter with a bias toward action, thrives in independent work environments with little oversight.

Compensation: $100,000 - $125,000 + 10% bonus

Allspring Global Investments is seeking an Investments Data & Reporting Analyst with knowledge of portfolio and performance analytics for a broad range of investments products. The Analyst will perform a business function as part of a seasoned data distribution team, with a hands-on role collaborating across portfolio management, product, distribution, marketing, legal and technology groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collecting, analyzing, and providing investment data for internal and external distribution and funds reporting.
• Tracking and executing on all product changes for Allspring -updating internal data systems, communicating changes to external third-party providers, and validating data.
• Developing solutions for reporting and dashboards through Crystal Reports and other tools.
• Working with users to define data requirements; researching and collecting data from a variety of sources; performing analysis and trending; summarizing and presenting findings.
• Compiling data from multiple sources, which may include simple data mining, and entering or importing data into databases.
• Automating and improving current business processes through use of internal tools and technologies - eliminating manual workflows and use of excel spreadsheets for critical sales support and client facing materials.
• Producing a wide variety of scheduled and ad-hoc reports related to portfolio and benchmark holdings, characteristics, performance, and attribution.
• Serving as a subject matter expert on Allspring's investment data footprint, key data sources, timing, methodologies, and usage across channels.
• Ensuring consistent usage and dissemination of data across Allspring.
• Leveraging third party market data tools to support fund requests - including products such as FactSet, Lipper, Morningstar Direct, Zephyr Style Advisor and Bloomberg.
• Responding to client requests and conduct special projects / analyses.
• Maintaining and updating Investment Data business procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics.
• 7 years working in roles within data management for asset managers, and demonstrated knowledge of investment products including mutual funds, separately managed accounts, and/or collective funds.
• Experience in report development using Crystal Reports or other similar product.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software Suite (highest in MS Excel), SQL languages.
