As the Delivery Lead for our Investment Tools development team, you will play a critical role leading all aspects of the end-to-end delivery of software solutions. You will lead a highly skilled team of software engineers, collaborate with collaborators, and drive successful execution of new tools using the latest technologies. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience for aspiring Delivery Managers. Core Responsibilities

1. Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.

2. Responsible for delivering software releases relating to the product for the business units. Works with business clients to determine scope, and develops environmental requirements for each project.

4. Develops and implements changes to department policies and procedures to meet changing business needs and to achieve department objectives. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.

5. Leads quality initiatives to improve the delivery of service levels. Works with senior management in the planning, development, and execution of short and long range goals.

6. Presents status, metrics, and department initiatives at meetings with management and project peers. Maintains relationships with technical teams, IT, and business partners.

7. Participates in the development of the department budget. Reviews expenses and ensures department operates within budgetary guidelines.

8. Ensures staff complies with information technology and information security policies and procedures, and verifies that deliverables meet requirements.

9. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Minimum of eight years related work experience, with at least five years of project management experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.

Core Responsibilities
• Develops, implements, and maintains an effective and efficient risk management infrastructure to manage, measure, monitor, and report aggregate global equity investments risk exposures.
• Researches and evaluates best practices for equity investment and business activities to control various risks. Researches equity investment risk management policies and procedures, limits, and guidelines. Gathers and analyzes data from various equity fund management units and provides improvement recommendations.
• Develops and implements technology-based tools and metrics, and performs statistical data analysis to report, monitor, measure, and manage various aspects of equity investment risk exposures. Presents thorough, clear, and insightful analysis to senior leaders, portfolio managers, and traders.
• Develops and implements processes, tools, and techniques to evaluate and validate equity investments models. Implements ongoing model validation processes.
• Develops and maintains knowledge of financial markets, quantitative drivers, and general investment themes in order to bring an informed perspective to the risk management processes. Develops a deep understanding of Vanguard's equity investment management functional areas. Keeps abreast of current issues in business operations and incorporates changing business needs into risk analysis.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Minimum of five years related work experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
• Progress towards professional certification (CFA, FRM) preferred.

Special Factors
• This is a hybrid role with Tues, Wed, Thurs in the office and Mon, Fri is remote.

Job Description:

The Director of Investment Financial Planning and Accounting is responsible for managing accounting, financial reporting, audit, and administration for the UPS Defined Benefit Pension Plans (the “Plans”). He/She implements and oversees financial controls and procedures to ensure the accuracy of investment valuations and the financial books and records of the Plans. This position ensures accurate and timely preparation of pension investment disclosures required for UPS related financial statements (e.g., UPS Plan financials, UPS 10-K, etc.). This position facilitates and manages the internal and external audits of the Plans’ financials and UPS 10-K as they relate to Plan assets. He/She develops and manages relationships with stakeholders (e.g., Benefit Accounting, auditors, external investment managers, vendors, and other service providers etc.). The Director of Investment Financial Planning and Accounting ensures compliance with FASB ASC 820 and other GAAP reporting requirements related to the assets of the Plans. This position manages Senior Accounting Analyst(s) and reports to the Senior Director of Finance and Operations.

The Director of Investment Financial Planning and Accounting must have high ethical standards and a commitment to maintain fiduciary responsibilities. He/She is a detail-oriented person who shall demonstrate strong accounting proficiency along with the proven ability to conduct research to solve complex business problems and remain current on regulatory requirements. He/She will have an in-depth understanding of complex financial data (e.g. options, futures, swaps, etc.) and be able to apply advanced principles in developing actions that support strategic direction and financial reporting. The Director of Investment Financial Planning and Accounting will work closely with all members of the UPS Investment Team and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. He/She shall demonstrate strong leadership and team management abilities and enjoys working in a collaborative environment. This position requires a self-motivated and organized person who has the ability to manage concurring deliverable deadlines and can work in a self-directed manner. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of pension investments and the related accounting and financial planning aspects as well as a desire to develop a deep understanding of global capital markets including both private and public markets investment characteristics. This position must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point and be able to work with third-party platforms/databases to produce customized reports and interpret/analyze data as necessary
