Description of Project
The Minnesota Department of Information Technology Services (MNIT) partnering with Department of Public Safety- Driver Vehicle Services is seeking one part-time Security Analyst to provide services primarily for a Google Translate project. The resource may be assigned other security related work as well.
At a high level, the Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) division is working to add language translation services to some of its public facing systems using the Google Cloud Platform. To ensure the confidentially, integrity and availability of the service, DVS is looking for a skilled IT security professional to perform an evaluation of the technology, architecture, processes, and all related components to ensure compliance with state and federal policies. Working with DVS business staff and the state’s IT security team written documentation of the assessment and recommendations will be created and shared with DVS and MNIT staff as appropriate.
Sample Tasks
• Assist with evaluation of Google Platform tied to translation services to ensure compliance with state and federal polices
• Assist with evaluation of architecture relating to interfacing with any state of MN resources
• Assist with assessing the security of any equipment needed to support the implementation of the translation system
• Assist with the evaluation of data integrity and data security within the GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
• Assist with ensuring all background check compliance is met for all project team members
• Assist with creating procedures to ensure the proper access rights are granted to system that are involved with the project
• Assist in building UAT scenarios that will ensure security requirements are properly tested and documented
• Assist with architecture reviews of all environments associated with the translation project
• Assist with the evaluation and testing of disaster recovery plans relating to the translation project
• Assist with the development of change management processes and procedure for the project
• Provide written documentation and recommendations as requested by the project manager
• Address other DVS security issues as needed
• Provide knowledge transfer
Minimum Qualifications
• One year of experience as a security analyst for translation services
• Two years of experience working in a government agency
Desired Skills
• Ability to apply technical policies, procedures, and security standards to ensure project/deliverables are in compliance.
• Experience with and knowledge of the Google Cloud Platform, especially pertaining to translation services, micro services, and Big Query
• Experience with Google GCP security configurations

In total there are around 300 strings comprising around 4500 English words. Some strings are a single word, others are a few sentences. Some strings contain simple HTML links that would need to be preserved. For example "Here is a [a href='http://www.google.com']link[/a]." would be translated into something like "Aquí hay un [a href='http://www.google.com']enlace[/a]".
I already have the Google Translate version of the localization that I have been using for testing, but I know that this has lots of problems and mistranslations. I am looking for a high quality translation that is better than Google. It should use the proper idioms and phrases and sound like a native speaker wrote the text.
The website is a popular kids website about paper airplanes. This is a US based website, and given that Spanish is the #2 language in the US, this is reason for my project. For this reason, I would like the translation to be in Mexican Spanish.
There is potential for sporadic future work, translating articles and other content that I add to the website in the future.
