The International English Language Testing System, or IELTS is an international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers. IELTS is the leading language proficiency test for higher education and global migration. ELS Philadelphia currently has part-time positions for the IELTS Invigilators (Proctors)

Requirements and Qualifications:

A suitable candidate for an IELTS Invigilator will be:
• Available to work on Saturday and Sunday from 7:30am for 8-9 hours
• A quick learner of digital information/database systems and office technology
• Having working knowledge of computers, technological devices, and troubleshooting skills
• Punctual, trustworthy, conscientious, reliable, and attentive to details
• Having a competent level of English for communication
• Sensitive to cultural differences

Duties and Responsibilities

During the sessions, inside and outside the test room, invigilators are responsible for:
• Invigilating the listening, reading, writing, and speaking test
• Carrying out the registration and verification of candidates’ identification according to IELTS regulations and timescales
• Taking responsibility for test room security and administration
• Ensuring necessary equipment, computer hardware, software, material for candidates, signage, branding and seating arrangements and plans are in place and ready to use as required
• Preparing and handling confidential test materials
• Assisting test takers with queries
• Some lifting and pushing/pulling test day equipment that may weigh up to 15lbs

• Flexibility in working hours is expected to meet operational needs. Invigilators will indicate their availability in advance and will be offered work based on test takers demand.
• Invigilators will be required to attend a training session to be able to perform this role
• To provide and maintain a workplace that is free of known hazards, to safeguard the health of our employees and their families, our customers and visitors, and the community at large, all ELS employees are required to receive COVID-19 vaccinations
