Duties & Responsibilities:

In accordance with organizational policies, duties include but are not limited to:
• Responsible for handling high volume of phone calls and emails.
• Scheduling client appointments.
• Checking clients in and out.
• Physically handling cats and dogs.
• Providing post-operative care instructions to owners.
• Tender cash and credit; create daily ledger of deposits.
• Data entry for all client appointments.
• Prepare mailing lists, labels and reports.
• Maintain office filing and storage systems.
• Keep filing/document management system for electronic and paper documents organized.
• Monitor and order office supplies.
• Distribute/file all incoming mail.

 Feeding animals at the SEK Humane Society Shelter.

 Cleaning and bathing animals; exercising animals as required.

What you’ll do:
• Ensure provision of the highest quality care, consistency, and husbandry of animals in accordance with SDHS policies and procedures, current and best animal welfare practices, and provision of exceptional services to the public and community we serve.
• Motivate and coach to lead a high performing management team; attract, recruit, develop and retain team members.

• Partner with the COO to:
• Provide leadership in developing programs, operation and financial plans, as well as implementing organization policies and procedures.

What we’re looking for:
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field required, with ten (10) years professional experience in animal welfare, including eight (8) years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of related experience and education.
• Project management experience required.
• Certified Animal Welfare Administrator (CAWA) preferred.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Excellent leadership skills, and experience motivating and developing emerging leaders are necessary.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be approved by SDHS insurance carrier to drive a company or personal vehicle for work purposes.

Location: Weekly travel between San Diego, El Cajon, Escondido, and Oceanside Campuses, with the potential for remote work some days of the week.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct reports include the Escondido, Oceanside, San Diego and El Cajon Campus Directors and the Operations Project Manager. Oversees Animal Services, Adoptions and Guest Relations staff and volunteers at the campuses.

Pay: Starting range is between $136,217 – 170,271 annually. The actual starting salary is determined by your related education and experience
