The YAWP Assistant will support the YAWP program for teenage writers. The Muse brings exciting authors and publishing professionals to Boston from around the country, and has historically welcomed upwards of 1,200 attendees. The Creative Director will work in collaboration with the Senior Conference Manager to design and implement an annual conference theme, curate conference sessions on craft and publishing, manage the conference budget, and invite keynote speakers, agents, and editors to the conference. We are seeking an individual with an inspiring vision for a maximally inclusive, diverse, and relevant Muse conference, with longstanding leadership experience, large scale event experience, and ties to the writing and publishing worlds.
The Creative Director role is a 30 hour/week position, with full benefits, as well as 10 additional vacation days to offset overtime hours worked during peak conference season. This is a hybrid position based in Boston, with at least one day of in-office work required each week. The Creative Director is supported by a full-time Senior Conference Manager, as well as a robust administrative staff during peak conference season.
