Outdoor experience is not necessary, but an interest is.The work of our Educators will support general lessons/activities that Let’s Go Outdoors may offer.
Responsibilities:
• Educators will work with a variety of ages of school, family, and/or adult groups for participation in outdoor recreation, nature awareness, or environmental education.
• Educators will present pre-designed lessons or activities in area classrooms or outdoor school or park locations
• Educators will be required to utilize existing lessons/activities and modify for the needs of the group
• Educators will be responsible for some level of group management, set-up and break-down of supplies and materials used for lessons/activities
• Educators will be expected to work together as a team and function independently to provide lessons/programs to people in schools and/or the community.
Qualifications and Competencies
• MUST be a good communicator and have the ability to represent the organization in a professional and positive manner.
• Access and/or use of a reliable vehicle for transportation, when needed
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and capable of standing/walking for long periods of time, based on educator duties.
• Experience offering presentations, working with youth/families and/or in customer service is highly preferred.
• Background checks and clearances will be needed.
• High school diploma and at least one year of work experience required. College students, especially liberal/general studies or education majors make a great fit for this position.
• Reliability and flexibility for working in different locations or environments
Hourly Pay: $16-$20 per hour, based on experience
