Responsibilities:
• Be able to communicate the details, direction, and technical design of the GitHub Advanced Security product to customers and fellow GitHub employees such as sales representatives and solution engineers.

• Build and develop solutions to support customers in their journey to adopting GitHub Advanced Security. (e.g. software prototypes and open source solutions).
• Act as an Advanced Security escalation point for regional customers as well as Sales team members

Customer interaction: Adept at working with large and strategic corporations with minimal oversight. Possess Technical and Business skills, including:

Internal collaboration: Engage in cross-functional collaboration within GitHub, including Sales, Professional Services, Technical Product Management, Product Marketing, Engineering, and Marketing. Work with these teams to understand and convey deep customer needs, product roadmap and direction, as well as detailed product and technical capabilities.

External Collaboration: Build a network of leaders, tastemakers/influencers, and customers to inform your own knowledge of the product and corporate landscape as well as position GitHub as an integral part of the security space. Become a trusted partner with leadership at GitHub’s strategic customers, allowing GitHub to provide an enhanced experience, as well as be better able to position GitHub for future sales opportunities. Build relationships with key decision-makers, visit customers on-site, and serve as a trusted advisor and point of contact

GitHub Advanced Security expertise: Possesses deep technical knowledge of GitHub’s Advanced Security features and capabilities to be able to position them to customers, as well as provide timely answers to their technical questions. You understand the code analysis landscape and market segment, and the needs of users and developers. You have a high-level knowledge of GitHub’s CodeQL technology.

Business Development: Be a partner to the field sales team. Help them understand and improve the relationship with their customers. Drive customer happiness, and plans to assess the market opportunity for GitHub Products and Services by aligning resources to meet business goals.

Represent GitHub: You will be a leader for your market and represent GitHub at customer and partner meetings as well as small and large events. You will be a key resource supporting GitHub to hit aggressive sales targets.

Required Qualifications:
• Customer-facing experience in a technical capacity (for example, but not limited to, sales or solution engineering, post-sales services delivery, technical product management or software development)
• Experience in software development, engineering, architecture or technical support.
• Experience working within a DevOps (or DevSecOps) and security team (or working closely with a security product and a strong passion for application security)
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time as and when it is safe to do so

Preferred Qualifications & Traits:
• Confident and proven communication skills (written and/or verbal, e.g. internal/external speaking events, blogging, conference talks, podcasts, published content).
• Able to relate technical concepts to customers of all technical backgrounds
• Specific knowledge about application security processes such as static analysis testing and security principles; common security flaws such as cross-site scripting; and application security concepts such as static analysis, dynamic analysis, control flow, data flow, information flow, security analysis, program transformation, taint analysis and taint tracking
• Experience with either Python, TypeScript, Go, or query languages; query optimisation; code generation

The Copilot IDE team has close partnerships with the teams responsible for Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code within Microsoft's Developer Division. Responsibilities
• Maintain and develop new features for the Copilot Vim/Neovim extension.

Minimum salary of $118,100 to a maximum of $313,300

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of the experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in the role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.

Have the ability to work off script and answer questions and challenges in live settings. Evangelize the GitHub solution and program both to internal and external audiences. Example settings are Customer Executive Briefing Conferences, sessions at Microsoft Technology Centers, account strategy sessions, customer workshops and enablement training. Get Microsoft buy in for focus on GitHub programs and initiatives to drive business.

Problem Solver. Solve problems and hypothesize possible selling pain points, expectations, and implicit needs; brainstorm with team members to devise solutions to solve complex deal challenges and find ways to navigate organizational complexity.

Understand GitHub products and solutions. Understand how we enable customers to be successful with our products and services to help them be innovation leaders. Qualifications:
• 5-10+ years on a high-performing enterprise revenue organization with a proven track record of exceeding team quotas/targets, preferably at a cloud solution vendor
• Experience defining, piloting, incubating, implementing and scaling programmatic sales programs in the field
• Successful management of large-scale complex deal cycles in large enterprise accounts

The Copilot team currently has three subteams:
• Model Improvements: Responsible for improving the quality of the code suggested by Copilot.

• Foundations: responsible for the Copilot backend services, integration into GitHub proper, and data pipelines.

The Copilot Model Improvements aims to improve the completions that are the core of Copilot. The team has close partnerships with Microsoft Azure AI Platform and OpenAI. It also has strong links with GitHub Next, a research team within GitHub investigating the future of software development, where Copilot was originally incubated.

The Copilot team is highly distributed and the right candidate will thrive in an environment of asynchronous communication. We expect you to have excellent written communication skills and be able to create working relationships with coworkers in locations around the globe.

Responsibilities
• Propose new techniques to improve the quality of Copilot’s suggestions.
• Write production code to implement these techniques, which will be shipped in the Copilot IDE clients.
• Construct and execute experiments to evaluate the impact of these techniques.
• Collaborate closely with other parts of the wider Copilot team.

Minimum Qualifications
• Strong software engineering skills.
• Some background in Machine Learning.
• Experience in at least one of the following fields:
