Key Responsibilities

Serves as the Coordinator for Outdoor Pursuits and Camp Flastacowo. Oversees all aspects of programming and logistics for Outdoor Pursuits and assists with the coordination of seasonal Camp Flastacowo summer camp program.

Assists with the scheduling, implementation, and leadership of diverse and comprehensive adventure trips and programs. Serves as a resource to the community for outdoor programming. Coordinates custom trips for students, faculty, staff, and the community. Researches areas of interest and oversees trip planning, risk management, and staffing for all trips.

Assists in the coordination and supervision of Camp Flastacowo program. Plans, schedules and supervises camp programs and activities based on American Camp Association (ACA) Accreditation standards. Oversees recruitment, selection, hiring, training, and evaluation of Camp Flastacowo counselors.

Oversees recruitment, selection, hiring, training, and evaluation of all Outdoor Pursuits staff.

Assists in other departmental activities and experiential education programming at the FSU Reservation. Serves on various University, divisional, and departmental committees. Performs other duties that support the mission of Campus Recreation and the Division of Student Affairs as assigned.

Ability to become certified in Wilderness First Responder and CPR – Professional Rescuer within the first year of hire.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sport Management, College Student Personnel, Student Affairs, or related field and two years of related experience.
• American Red Cross Certification
• A valid State of Florida or Georgia Class E driver's license or the ability to obtain upon hire
• Knowledge of hard skills, including but not limited to paddling (flat water canoeing and coastal kayaking), backpacking, rock climbing, and off-road bicycling, and ability to demonstrate, educate, and train staff.
• Knowledge and ability to identify and operate safely according to industry standards for assigned Outdoor Pursuits trips and programs, summer camp programs, and Reservation operations.

Musical oversight and coordination of three mainstage opera productions each year to include:
• coaching singers

Qualifications

The successful candidate will:

Hold a graduate degree in collaborative piano or demonstrate evidence of equivalent professional experience.
• Have a proven track record of professional work related to opera music production and musical coaching.
• Commit to upholding diversity in teaching, recruitment, creative activity, and service.
• Demonstrate a record of national or international musical engagement as an opera coach.
• Possess excellent opera coaching and piano skills, expertise in Italian, French, English, and German language and lyric diction.
• Work collaboratively with the voice faculty, stage directors, and the Director of Orchestral Activities.
• Demonstrate ability and interest in working in a collegial and mutually supportive environment.
Preferred

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in conducting and/or administration. Knowledge of languages in addition to Italian, French, English, and German is desirable.
