To be successful as a test automation engineer, you should be exceptionally accurate and possess a superior analytical aptitude. Ultimately, a top-notch test automation engineer will be proficient in at least one programming languages and have excellent time management skills.

You will be primarily responsible in estimating, planning, and coordinating testing activities for our web-based software applications, as well as maintaining and extending our current suite of automated web tests.
The ideal candidate is a very detail-oriented person and a strong communicator as they will need to tirelessly advocate for improvements in quality and train junior developers and non-test focused engineers on the best ways to handle testing while keeping team velocity high. Additionally, you should be quick to adapt to new requirements, handle multiple projects simultaneously and are personally driven to perform.
This is a full-time role. Our team is headquartered in Houston, Texas, but we work as a distributed team and accept remote applicants.
Requirements
To be successful as a test automation engineer, you should be exceptionally accurate and possess a superior analytical aptitude. Ultimately, a top-notch test automation engineer will be proficient in at least one programming languages and have excellent time management skills.
Typically Requires:
• At least 5 years of software testing experience, preferably in web based applications.
• At least 5 years of experience writing front end testing automation, Selenium preferred
• Strong functional and automation testing experience across web client applications.
• Skilled in analysis, solid decision-making and problem-solving.
• Knowledge on using JIRA or any known defect/ test management tools
Nice to have:
• Experience with RESTful API testing.
• Familiarity with SQL and Linux environment.
• You are a private pilot, or you are looking to pursue your private pilot license.
Responsibilities
• Relentlessly strive to make our automated testing suite better, through increased coverage, maintainability, and ease of expansion
• Review requirements specifications and design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback as early as possible.
• Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases, ranging from the architectural level to the minutiae.
• Execute testing of user stories and identify potential issues and fixes before releases.
• Design and write test automation scripts and use test automation frameworks
• Work closely with developers in Agile environment to ensure quality standards are met or exceeded.
• Work to educate non-QA team members on the testing framework and assist them in creating their own tests to increase our coverage.
• Excel at delivering assigned tasks on schedule.

• Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR

• In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

Compensation
The salary range for the posted role is $70,000 to $152,000. Raytheon Technologies/Collins Aerospace/FlightAware will consider several factors when extending an offer of employment. An offer will be commensurate with consideration of, but not limited to, the role, responsibilities, related work experience, education, training, competency and key skills.
