Description
Provides support for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) to include processing, documentation, redaction of content, cost estimates/payment, and delivery of requests adhering to prescribed time limits; tracks and processes all requests and responses to ensure accuracy and timeliness; ensures all requests are addressed in accordance with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (VFOIA); coordinates requests with FCPS staff, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
Required
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
• Two (2) years of progressively more responsible experience related to data collection and reporting and/or data management.
• Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws such as the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (VFOIA), Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment.
• Knowledge of the application of privacy laws in the practice of redacting records.
• Skill in writing, editing, and research with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in the use of technology, data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
• Ability to apply analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadline requirements.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

• Bachelor's in communications
• Skill in eDiscovery, Logikcull, Google Vault, and document sharing applications.
