Summary of Position

Serves as the primary day-to-day editor of emmy magazine, responsible for editing and, with the editor in chief, creative director and other editorial colleagues, overseeing production of the magazine.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Leads planning of ongoing editorial content and makes appropriate assignments or delegates assigning to editorial colleagues
• Responsible for day-to-day production activities of emmy.
• Collaborates on annual editorial calendar.
• Evaluates story pitches.
• Conceives story ideas in conjunction with editorial staff and freelance contributors, seeking wide-ranging, inclusive subjects representative of the Television Academy's peer groups and the television industry as a whole.
• Establishes and enforces deadlines to keep magazine on schedule.
• Liaises with network and personal publicists and other representatives to obtain cooperation of subjects for covers, internal stories and other editorial opportunities.
• Liaises with creative director, photography editor, contributing editor, freelance contributors and advertising sales representative as needed.
• Contributes articles and other copy as needed.
• Fact-checks and edits copy in key sections as identified.
• Writes headlines, subheads, captions, credits, cover lines and other ancillary copy.
• Delegates editing to contributing editors as needed and reviews finished product.

Minimum Requirements
