About the Intensive English Program:

The Intensive English Program (IEP) is an academic support service designed to help international students enhance their academic success by improving their English language proficiency and increasing their familiarity with US culture. Small classes and individual attention characterize Drake's IEP, with classes offered at the intermediate and advanced levels.

Academic Vocabulary Course Description:

Intermediate students learn the vocabulary words that commonly are used in U.S. classrooms in a university setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

Job Summary:

The Assistant Dean is a success-oriented leader providing strategic leadership and direction for a comprehensive career center supporting law students and alumni throughout the job search process to include, skill acquisition, experiential opportunities, search strategies, and facilitating employer engagement.

The Assistant Dean serves as a member of the Law School's administrative leadership team while supervising the Director of Career Development and a Program Coordinator.

The Assistant Dean oversees integrated services with a demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and a strong knowledge of National Association for Law Placement (NALP) standards for professional ethical practice in career services and recruiting.

Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is excited to launch a search for a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor who will serve in the newly created faculty position with Primary Health Care (PHC) and MercyOne Des Moines.

Primary Health Care is a federally qualified health center with a mission of caring for individuals, regardless of insurance, immigration status, or ability to pay. The Des Moines area PHC clinics provide an array of services, including medical, dental, behavioral health, family practice, and pharmacy. In 2020, PHC provided over 137,000 encounters for nearly 38,000 patients.

The MercyOne Family Medicine Residency partners with PHC to provide exceptional care to patients while training family medicine physicians through clinical experiences, didactic coursework, and procedural training. Within the PHC clinic, the family medicine residents and attending physicians interface and collaborate readily with the pharmacy team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will report to the Drake Pharmacy Practice Department Chair. Primary responsibilities include provision of patient care services, provision of introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences, teaching in didactic courses, and delivering interprofessional education.

This individual will also be responsible for mentoring/advising students, participating in College and University faculty governance, and engaging in scholarship efforts appropriate for non-tenure track faculty. As such, candidates who demonstrate innovation, and possess excellent communication skills, commitment to excellence in teaching, and strong administrative skills are encouraged to apply.

The appointed rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor will be based on the successful candidate's experiences and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:
• PharmD
• Be licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in Iowa.
• Have two or more years of clinical experience OR completion of an accredited clinical residency program.

Preferred Qualifications:
• PGY-2 residency training in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Ambulatory Care, or Pharmacotherapy.
• Competence/fluency in a non-English language.

Essential Functions:

a. Provides pharmacology lectures for faculty physicians, residents, and staff.

b. Participates in patient cares rounds with family medicine inpatient team preventing, detecting, and resolving medication related problems and to make appropriate evidence-based patient centered medication therapy recommendations.

c. Provide pharmacotherapy consults for physicians and residents in the clinic as requested.

d. Provide concise, applicable, comprehensive, and timely responses for drug information from patients, faculty physicians, residents and staff. e. Manage an anticoagulation clinic.

f. Serve as a preceptor for PharmD students providing visual, spoken, and written clinical education.

g. Evaluate student performance based on competencies of the experiential education program

h. Provide patient education in the clinic as needed.

i. Appropriately document clinical interventions and activities.

j. Commitment to excellence in teaching.

k. Participate in scholarly activities, including but not limited to teaching, publication, and conference presentations.

l. Participate in didactic teaching as directed by the department chair.

m. Participate in the governance of the department, college, and university.

n. Mentor and advise students enrolled in academic programs.

o. Engage in other duties of faculty members as requested by the department chair and as specified in the Faculty Handbook and Academic Charter

p. Fulfill service obligations including, but not limited to, committee work, community outreach, participation in Drake's commencement ceremonies (in May and December), engagement in student recruitment, and contributions to one's scholarly discipline.

Job Summary:

The Financial Coordinator works in tandem with the Assistant Director for New Student Programs to provide excellent service to students and families, with a focus on new or prospective students. This position will regularly talk with students or families about the financial aid process and assist them in developing a plan to pay for college costs, and will occasionally lead presentations on financial aid topics.

The Coordinator will also prepare financial aid offers in accordance with department policies and relevant government regulation. When applicable, this position will guide families through the appeal process to help families report special circumstances not reflected on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Coordinator will have the authority to review appeals and, when appropriate, approve adjustments to the FAFSA or other data elements.

The Coordinator will serve as liaison between the Financial Aid Office and the Office of Global Engagement to prepare/revise financial aid offers for students participating in study away programs. This position will also assist with calculating the amount of federal student aid funds that must be returned for students who withdraw during the course of a semester.

The foregoing duties require excellent communication skills, high emotional intelligence, attention for detail, and strong analytical reasoning and decision-making skills. A self-motivated candidate possessing a well-rounded skillset will excel in this challenging and rewarding position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Job Summary:

For the first time in years, Drake University is searching for a Strategic Communications Director who will lead the institution in content marketing and public relations efforts. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional.

This individual will lead a team of dedicated professionals on the University of Communications and Marketing team to advance the image and reputation of the institution.
