What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a contract, part-time Senior Payroll Specialist to oversee all aspects of the payroll process for all the Discogs locations, including both U.S. and International payroll processes. It is expected that 20 hours every two weeks, with additional hours as needed. This role requires a detail-oriented approach to ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all data inputs and outputs. It also requires the ability to stay up to date on changes in payroll regulations in locations where Discogs employs team members worldwide. This position will report to the Director of Finance.
What You’ll Accomplish

• Processes semi-monthly U.S. payroll and monthly international payroll to ensure timely and accurate payroll cycles.
• Processes off-cycle payrolls related to employee exits or bonuses.
• Confirms manager approvals on timecards, and checks timestamps for accuracy.
• Confirms manager approvals of time off requests including PTO, sick time, holidays, leave requests, etc. and checks for accuracy.
• Makes adjustments to the payroll system for changes in pay, bonuses, and commissions.
• Manages direct deposit requests.
• Manages accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, and other service providers.
• Audits invoices from benefits carriers against changes made in the payroll system.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices in payroll management.
• Conducts regular audits of records to ensure compliance with regulations related to payroll, benefits, and 401k filings.
• Partners with the People Operations and Accounting teams to process year-end payroll requirements such as W-2s, 1095-Cs, etc.
• Stay up to date on regulatory changes related to payroll.
• Manage relationships with third party payroll providers in the Discogs international locations.
What You’ll Contribute
• 5+ years related work experience.
• Proven experience managing payroll as a one-person team, including preparation, reconciliation, auditing, and tying out totals in each payroll.
• Working knowledge of ADP WorkforceNow Payroll and HRIS.
• Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, including SIT, SUI, and other federal, state and local wage and hour requirements.
• Understanding of proper taxation of employer-paid benefits including imputed income.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of the functions, operation, and expected outcomes of the payroll-related processes this role is responsible for.
• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills, including VLookups, pivot tables, database, and reporting tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Understanding of the confidentiality requirements associated with pay.

Who We’re Looking For
The main objective of the CS Coordinator is to assist the community in their interaction with Discogs and its associated brands. This includes, but isn’t limited to, adjusting order pages to assist a transaction, adjusting seller invoices, investigating account suspensions and policy violations, and processing feedback removal requests and account blocks. All user support requests are submitted via written message; we do not offer phone or chat support.
The CS Coordinator may also be asked to work on quarterly goals and initiatives, and have a basic understanding of how such work impacts team KPIs and performance.

• Provide clear, concise, and empathetic written responses to support requests with a working knowledge of Discogs Marketplace policies and processes, user account activity, and basic discography guidance.

• Review and respond to community support concerns in writing.

The Senior Backend Engineer, Catalog acts as a senior member of a group of passionate engineers to help us create software and services for the Discogs catalog. As a technical subject matter expert, this role is instrumental in driving our catalog technology vision forward and evangelizing development and testing practices that drives Discogs catalog transformation and growth strategies. Requires great ability to multi-task across projects as well as to adapt to different areas of the code where previous knowledge, skills, and experience may not exist. This role provides strong technical leadership and mentorship to develop the capabilities of other team members. This role motivates and fosters collaboration across the teams.
