• Responsible for achievement of editorial objectives.
• Coordinate editorial activities with other departments.
• Manage editorial budget & resources.
• Recruit key personnel and oversee all editorial hiring.
• Ultimate management of all editors and writers within the Editorial department to set goals, standards, and expectations.
Evaluate editorial leadership and direct performance management for all writers and editors.
• Completes any other duties deemed efficacious by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• 7+ years of journalism experience
• 4+ years of management experience
• Extensive knowledge of Internet culture
• Skill at thinking through audience and editorial objectives systematically and developing action plans
• Experience working as part of and managing a virtual team
• Skill in multitasking and prioritizing
• Comfortable in a small, intense and high-growth start-up/entrepreneurial environment
• Experience building, maintaining, and balancing budgets
• Mastery of every aspect of publishing:
recruiting, pitching stories, assigning, editing, promoting, strategic planning, and coordinating with other departments

Base Salary Range:
$90,000 to $150,000 (plus profit sharing)
