Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• MIG Weld steel materials up to 1” thick using .035 and .045 welding process
• Grind materials to high finish standards
• Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
• Set up components for welding according to specifications
• Align components using calipers, rulers, etc and clamp pieces
• Ensures all finished product and documentation is accurate and complete and according to company and customer requirements that meet Canadian welding requirements.
• Keeps work environment clean, safe and positive
• Primary focus of all business related efforts are and must remain that of promoting excellence in all Pflow products

The opportunity

Provides credit structuring, analysis, credit underwriting, risk management and client facing support for a complex and diversified client portfolio with average loan volumes primarily greater than $10MM. This role performs credit underwriting, monitoring and adjudication on a diversified commercial banking book in the Mid-Market commercial banking space. The role holder will have full understanding of the organization's credit policies and existing credit arrangements, but still developing knowledge of specifics related to unique credit arrangements and concerns

The day to day

Credit management
• Deliver exceptional client experiences at every interaction and execute on plans to continuously build the client experience, in line with CWB's brand promise.
• Support the district's strategy and client experience through effective and timely credit underwriting for new and existing borrowing opportunities, with a focus on complex loans >$10MM.
• Actively develop creative, competitive client solutions, in coordination with relationship managers, leveraging internal partnerships and specialists where appropriate
• Completes necessary due diligence and works with relationship managers to establish terms of credit, and produce ongoing credit reviews and risk ratings that reflect strong knowledge of CWB policies and procedures
• Incumbent must use judgement to determine the appropriate course of action required to address the needs of the client/team member and reach an appropriate solution.
Business growth & risk strategist
• Actively identify full-service solutions for clients with the view to support relationship managers to be every client's primary financial partner.
• Actively refer to other business partners both within banking centres and across CWB.
• Be accountable for district financial objectives through effective and timely credit underwriting for highly complex new and existing borrowing opportunities, while balancing risk and reward in line with CWB's risk appetite.
• Minimize operational losses and report all potential losses > $5,000 within 5 business days after month end.
• Expertly manage risk with prudent lending recommendations, including appropriate due diligence.
• Be accountable for timely and consistent completion of annual reviews and new transactions.
• Provide efficient and effective operations with strong data integrity including strong collaboration with other CWB teams.
• Operate in a compliant manner, minimizing regulatory compliance and operational risk, providing approval within delegated credit limits.
• Assist with management of negative trending accounts with consolidation with AVP, High Risk, as required.

Foundational knowledge and experience to grow with

A Bachelor's Degree in commerce, finance, or accounting disciplines with a minimum of 6 years' experience within functions of risk management, banking and/or business lending , including significant direct experience with commercial credit underwriting across a variety of industries with directly leadership & coaching experience.

Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline is required. MBA/CFA is considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities:
• Liase with production and NDE subcontractors.
• Evaluate material certificates and documentation delivered with goods against purchase order and material specifications, when required.
• Develop and maintain routine procedures for visual inspections of welds.
• Develop schedules for visual weld inspections and assist in development of inspection and test plans.
• Perform visual inspections of fit up prior to welding and finished welds.
• Monitor welding conditions, parameters, consumable control and post weld heat treatment operations.
• Perform dimensional checks and complete reports when required.
• Conduct inspections in areas of cut items, pre-assembled components, assembled components, identification of materials and transfer of identification, and material receiving.
• Ensure all necessary equipment for inspection and for performance of welding and post-weld heat treatment operations are calibrated and maintained.
• Ensure work is performed to meet established technical documentation for the actual project, including drawings, specifications, PWHT procedures, welding procedures, inspection plan, and instructions.
• Complete inspection reports and ensure all necessary documentation is completed, ready for filing and inclusion in final dossier.
• Assist in preparation of final project dossier.
• Ensure all ITP stages are followed and complied.
• Read piping isometrics, GA's and PID's.
• Knowledge of ASME, ABSA, API and CSA codes and standard.
• Material receiving inspection and verification.
• Maintaining welder qualification record.
• Monitoring welding and carrying out final weld visual inspection.
• Verifying all NDT completion releasing the piping for hydro test.
• Witness hydro tests.
• Final piping reinstatement inspection and witnessing applicable bolt torque.

• Review and sign off on all visual inspection reports.
• Ensure compliance with designs, company standards, client specifications and global codes
• Inspection of fabrication stages and testing
• Read and understand P&ID’s, piping plans, elevations and piping isometrics
• Communicate effectively when a problem is identified
• Review, compiles and copies turnover packages and submits to the customer at the end of each project.
• Verifies and documents compliance with welding and installation procedures on a per job basis
• Perform other duties as directed by the Quality Manager.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

The skills and abilities required would normally be associated with certification to CSA Standard W178.2-2014, Level III Welding Inspector, combined with a minimum of 5 years related experience. A demonstrated capability in the control, management and execution of the work is essential.
• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical or Welding Engineering.
• CWB Level 3 certification with 5 years of experience.
• Well Versed in ASME and CSA Construction codes.
• Strong time management skills and ability to handle a multitude of tasks.
• Good computer skills, especially in the use of MS Office.
• Strong commitment to safety. Self-motivated, organized and able to work in a high-pressure deadline driven environment.
• Understands Quality Inspection Procedures, Tools and Equipment.

In this position, you will report to the Learning Development Manager and will be working remotely from your home office. CWB is adopting a remote-first working model, where employees will work from their home office, servicing the client within their specified areas either remotely or in person. What you bring to the table:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to deliver presentations and develop educational materials.
• Completed 2-3 year course in Welding Technician/Technologist Program, Materials Engineering or Red Seal in welding/metal fabrication
• 5 years Training/Instructing Adults.
• 10 years of progressive experience in the Welding and Joining industry, hands on experience is required.
• Thorough knowledge of Welding standards CSA, AWS, ASME, etc.
• CSA W178.2, Level 1 Welding Inspector certification.
• Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices partnered with a willingness to follow the CWB’s policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge in content and curriculum design or development.
• Experience teaching or instructing adults in a post-secondary environment
• Welding Skills - possess CWB and pressure welding qualifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft office applications.
• A valid driver’s license and your own vehicle are mandatory.
• Ability to travel to other training locations in Canada as needed is required.

The Material Handler is responsible for job duties that may include some or all of the following: packaging, labeling, and loading product for delivery to internal departments and/or customers; recording quality and output measures, and completing other paperwork.
