Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the Associate Director of Financial Aid is the main compliance contact person regarding application and verification, cash management and disbursement. This individual manages the processing of federal financial aid information (Institutional Student Information Records, or ISIRs) and record retention procedures for student documentation; and oversees the awarding, certification, payment, and reconciliation of federal financial aid programs (Pell, SEOG, Grants, Scholarships), NYC Vallone Scholarship, CUSTA, and other grants.

The Associate Director will work closely with the financial aid staff (advisors and program coordinators) in troubleshooting and resolving systems-related problems, and collaborate with the Financial Aid Director in coordinating personnel and resources. Flexible scheduling with availability to work evenings and weekends when needed is expected.

Responsibilities of the position include:
• Manage the processing of students’ ISIR, including corrections and verifications, and oversee staff responsible for accurate and timely data entry. This includes training the financial aid staff in the processing, disbursement, reconciliation, and maintenance of ISIR records, as well as developing and implementing procedures, reports, and queries to facilitate these actions for federal and other aid programs.
• Serve as chief compliance contact for application, verification and record retention procedures.
• Manage the awarding, disbursement, and reconciliation of Federal student aid and NYC Vallone Scholarship and CUSTA.
• Assist with yearly financial aid audit reporting, reconciliation of various financial aid reports for the Department of Education, and the scheduling of the financial aid annual disbursement calendar.
• Oversee communications regarding CUNYfirst checklist items and reconciliation reports.
• Assist in the yearly review of financial aid configurations and testing.
• Consult on behalf of the financial aid staff and the college community on student financial aid systems, processing, and disbursements, and make recommendations regarding management tools, maintenance, record keeping, and related changes and processes.
• Represent the financial aid office at various student financial aid meetings within the college and throughout the University.
• Oversee the financial aid operations in the absence of the Director, if needed.
• All other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal student aid programs and regulations;
• Excellent customer service, management, planning, and organizational skills;
• Experience and functional knowledge with administering federal student aid programs;
• Operational familiarity with PeopleSoft (CUNYfirst) as it relates to financial aid procedures and reporting.

The Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures invites applications for the position of Lecturer to teach general education courses in the fields of Latin American/Latinx Literature and Cultures from the Colonial Period through the XX and XXI Centuries. GENERAL DUTIES
