At CSIS we actively seek to employ a diverse group of people who embody our organizational values. We welcome and encourage individuals of all backgrounds to apply, especially those from traditionally underrepresented groups...

CSIS is a bipartisan, nonprofit policy research organization dedicated to advancing practical ideas to address the world’s greatest challenges. We aim to define the future of national security. We are guided by a distinct set of values—non-partisanship, independent thought, innovative thinking, cross-disciplinary scholarship, integrity and professionalism, and talent development. CSIS’s values work in concert toward the goal of making real-world impact. CSIS has grown steadily throughout its nearly sixty years, most notably during the last two decades. Its programmatic breadth and impact, expertise and policy influence, annual revenue, and reputation and brand have all deepened during this time. With the adoption of a new strategic plan, CSIS is seeking to stay ahead of changes to the international environment, as well as in the Washington policy ecosystem.

CSIS seeks a research associate to support the Renewing American Innovation Project. The RAI Project focuses on the architecture of renewal both proposed and underway to restore the United States’ postwar status as the world’s foremost center of innovation and advancement in science and technology. RAI brings together leaders in academia, industry, and government with events organized around public-private partnerships and concrete policy actions the United States can take – such as modernizing outdated patent and intellectual property laws, boosting competitiveness through standards-setting, and even reforming the immigration system. Given the vast advances in telecommunications, quantum computing, and the medical sciences made globally in the last decade alone, the United States cannot afford to cede its long-standing primacy in science and technology.
