POSITION OVERVIEW...
• Manage the purchasing, installation, maintenance, and operations of all CAD equipment.
• Train new personnel on EAT CAD equipment functions.
• Train all associates on EAT CAD techniques and functions needed for pattern development.
• Be technically aware of all current software/hardware and new developments in EAT systems so purchasing recommendations can be made to management.
• Manage the design CAD network and its connection with the file server which runs the jacquard looms.
• Manage the Weave Department harness cast-outs. Experience with Jacquard harness is essential such as set-ups, ties, repeats and conversion from one end count to another.
• Develop with the Weave Department dobby loom patterns (we can offer OJT re dobby).
• Interface with manufacturing department and design on solving quality assurance problems in the design or manufacturing of fabric.
• Assist designers on special design projects or on new technical setups on looms.
• Work with outside designers as required supplying technical information as needed.
• Responsible for the loading and maintaining of all production loom files for the jacquard looms.
KEY DUTIES OVERVIEW:
• First line of quality assurance for commission weaving pattern accuracy.
• Set-up commission weaving patterns for our looms for weaving.
• Work with Design Staff, Outside Designers, and Customers on special projects.
• Edit/Create Art Files.
• Create loom files for Samples/product development weaving.
• All design work, loom files, and paperwork for Cubicle & Panel fabrics.
• Convert legacy patterns and weaves from Mill partnerships for weaving and customer requests.
• Analyze woven fabric for construction.
• Analyze woven fabric and create new patterns.
• Create, alter, convert weaves for new constructions or quality issues.
• Design and create weave blankets for Design Staff as needed.
• Design and create new harness layouts for patterns and looms for new weaving constructions.
• Generate Dobby pattern layouts for weaving.
• Assist with loom network and Loom Server.
• EAT CAD Software Contact and aid Design Staff with questions or problems.
• Assist Weaving Department with technical weaving problems.
• Assist Construction Admin personnel with pattern specs.
• Create Production files from Samples files on Loom Server for weaving.
• Deal with Quality Assurance issues when patterns will not run on looms due to slack or tight warp ends.
• Convert and update files from older formats to current formats on a per loom basis.
