The members of the University of Colorado Boulder Police Department (CUPD) are dedicated to providing the highest quality police services in order to improve community safety, protect life and property, and reduce crime and the fear of crime. The CUPD is a full-service police agency with 46 sworn and 36 non-sworn employees providing community-based public safety services to a diverse community of 36,000 affiliates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year long. Every year the department responds to approximately 20,000 calls for service and ensures the safety and security for all of their PAC-12 Conference athletic events with attendance at football games exceeding 50,000 fans. Patrolling the campus by foot, bicycle, motorcycle, and vehicle, the CU Boulder Police work diligently with the University community and surrounding agencies to ensure a timely and coordinated law enforcement response.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Receiving, Prioritizing Calls, & Send Appropriate Response
• Make decisions directly impacting the lives, health, safety and property of the public, law-enforcement and emergency services personnel
• Coordinate the deployment and monitoring of law enforcement and emergency services resources in response to multiple simultaneous emergent calls for service such as: crimes-in-progress, burglaries, thefts, fires, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, natural disasters, hazardous materials incidents, civil disturbances and other public safety incidents.
• Provide Life Safety Emergency Response for those with disabilities such as hearing/speech/vision via Text Telephone Device (TDD). (Use of this device also requires competence in hearing impaired language skills which differ from those with normal senses and communicative abilities)

Documentation of all Incidents
• Record and document details of call information, resource deployment, response times, unit activity and status, personnel deployment and status, pending incident status and call loading by accessing and operating county-wide computer aided dispatching system.

Query & Disseminate from Data Bases
• Expeditiously relays concise, accurate information by accessing, extracting, analyzing and interpreting general, criminal justice, departmental university and other printed or computer-based information resources.

Updating & Making Entries into Law Enforcement Data Bases
• Enter, audit, modify, update, correct, remove, replace, record, documents, retrieve, distribute and secure local, state and national criminal justice records and data bases, departmental and University databases, lists, logs, forms, files, records, memoranda and written procedures.

Community Outreach
• Provide assistance to other campus departments for the development or understanding of their interactions with the communications center.
• Strong understanding of communications equipment and its uses, knowledge to improve their ability to report incidents in a timely and concise manner to the center for general police responses and emergency responses and support for developing new programs that will interact with the communications center.

Communications Section Projects / Support Services Division Projects / Training New Employees
• Provide assistance to Communications Section and Support Service Division with any special projects or ongoing projects as needed.
• Support Section in recruitment and retention of employees. Train new communications personnel by providing supervision, instruction, counseling, direction evaluation, critique, daily observation reports (DOR), on console experience using a structured departmental communications training program.
• Prepare documents, memoranda, training materials, procedures manuals, disaster response protocols and other written materials for dissemination and distribution after review and approved by supervisors.

Mutual Aid
• Ensure uninterrupted mutual aid, interoperability, and support with public safety communications for the city Boulder and Boulder County under mutual aid agreements by providing emergency and auxiliary inter-agency communications support, personnel and facilities.

Support Duties
• Correct minor computer or phone problems including restarts, logons and general knowledge of equipment in center.

What We Can Offer
• The salary range for the Tech Level IV position (4 years of police dispatching experience) is $65,603.20 - $67,558.40 annually.
• The salary range for the Tech Level V position (5 years of police dispatching experience) is $69,596.80 - $78,333 annually.
• This position is eligible for up to a 10% shift differential for shift hours worked.
• The selected candidate will receive a $2,500 signing bonus and a one-time payment of $2,500 after successful completion of the training program (usually within 8 – 12 months).
• A $2,500 referral bonus is available to current CUPD staff within divisional guidelines.

Job Summary

The Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a full-time Teaching Assistant Professor. This position typically involves teaching five engineering courses per academic year on the Western Colorado University campus in Gunnison and is anticipated to begin in the Fall 2023 semester. Required courses to be taught are thermodynamics parts 1 and 2, and environmental sciences. Additional course needs will arise; the candidate should be comfortable developing and teaching these new courses. This is a non-tenure track appointment and may be renewable. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Executive Assistant
• Support the Director's Office through scheduling, arranging travel, and processing expense reports and reimbursements. The Office includes both the Institute Director and the Director of IBS' Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts.
• Assist the IBS Director with special projects such as creating IBS policies and procedures, compiling information for academic hires, promotions, and merit reviews and providing coordination related to carrying out the units mission and vital planning processes.
• Track IBS Research Development Awards, Faculty Evaluations, Foundation reports/letters.
• Search and prepare materials for meetings of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Prepare meeting background documents, agendas, and draft and edit meeting minutes.
• Assist with financial items such as Scope of Work documents, honorariums, Purchase Orders, Payment Vouchers, etc.
• Collaborate with Institute's Building and Event Coordinator to ensure equitable and appropriate office and cubicle assignments and to hire and supervise IBS Student Assistant employees.

Administrative Coordinator
• Lead the Institute's administrative staff, in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Research Administration, ensuring effective, efficient, and equitable support for researchers. Working closely with the Assistant Director, hire personnel for the unit by assessing needs, authorizing appropriate processes, interpreting and applying personnel guidelines, and conducting interviews. Collaborate to ensure accurate HR records, authorize wage and salary payments, and resolve issues such as payroll problems.
• Provide administrative leadership by identifying gaps and creatively working to fill those gaps. Encourage and provide opportunities for team building and professional growth.
• Collaboratively manage administrative staffing needs and determine workloads for staff, assigns tasks, and evaluate results. Lead training and orientation.
• Responsible for unit-wide communication support in coordination with the Outreach and Communications Specialist.
