Cond Nast, the world-renowned media company, is a portfolio of iconic brands that champion exceptionality and inspire community. Cond Nast Commercial Creative-our global marketing, creative, experiential and production arm- transforms the stronghold our brands have on hearts and minds into elegant and actionable content, programs, and partnerships.

We are designing the future of our company and our industry, and we're inspired by the opportunity ahead of us to build a global creative community that can leverage commercial interest and investment to build the next era of success for Cond Nast. Our ideal candidates will be excited to make an impact on that process.

The Role

As a Copywriter based in the New York office, you will work on a wide variety of integrated creative projects with multi-format needs (photo, video, experiential, digital, print, etc) in collaboration with multiple creative and production teams in the commercial organization.

Reporting to the commercial Creative Director for Vogue, the copywriter will join a specialized creative team taking on a variety of branded assignments within the fashion and luxury categories primarily. The ideal candidate is a multidimensional and conceptual creative thinker with proven experience developing copy-driven content and campaigns that bring brands closer to culture. They will have a solid foundation in fashion editorial, content strategy and social media trends. This candidate will bring fresh ideas and elegant narrative solutions to answering briefs from our advertising partners, and understand how to craft a compelling pitch.

At Cond Nast Commercial Creative, cross-functional collaboration is vital, and success relies on "walking the walk" in both client-facing and editorial settings. Under the guidance of the creative director, the copywriter will partner with art directors to produce work on projects with multiple stakeholders, and directly contribute to the building of creative decks, presenting work, and developing multi-channel ideas in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with art directors and marketing leads on the conceptual development of pitches, transforming advertiser briefs into compelling creative campaigns
• Write creative copy for pitch decks (headlines, manifestos, sample scripts, conceptual overviews), video storyboards and series treatments for multi-format content programs.
• Draw from and apply cultural insights to the development of narrative concepts for content and campaign work.
• Shape effective content strategies and messaging hierarchies based on client priorities.
• Set the bar for high quality creative output and inspire key teams and stakeholders in the process of answering a brief.
• Produce work that upholds the standards of Cond Nast's editorial brand voices and maintains cultural relevance in global markets.
• Direct narrative development of film treatments, and conduct talent interviews.
• Champion diversity, inclusivity, and empathy in every stage of the creative process.
• Assign/manage external contributors and writers, and liaise with the editorial teams to ensure brand voice and cultural relevance in all commercial concepts.
• Be a collaborative creative guide to strategists, marketers, producers, and clients.

You are:
• Informed - Current on fashion, luxury, music and the arts, as well as knowledgeable about Cond Nast brands and culture. You know the international fashion week schedule, read The New Yorker in print, know the frontrunner for Palme D'Or at Cannes, and lurk on the latest TikTok trends.
• Imaginative - You're a conceptual creative with innovative ideas that challenge traditional approaches to content creation.
• Effective - Equally obsessed with creating beautiful work and impactful campaigns that solve our client's challenges.
• Adaptable - Open to taking input from others, with the willingness to take on essential tasks when needed to get the job done.
• Resourceful - You strive to come up with ideas that suit budgets and timelines, can manage multiple projects at once, and know when to pivot if something isn't working.
• Ego-less - You give credit where credit is due, bring a positive attitude to work and support your teammates across departments.
