Healthcare for First Americans is a central part of the Chickasaw Nation’s mission. With a new hospital facility that includes several outpatient clinics, 24/7 Emergency Department and a variety of ancillary services, the Chickasaw Nation Department of Health is advancing the wellness of their patients. Three satellite clinics, strategically placed, provide access to care for those within the Chickasaw Nation service area. Current services provide a solid foundation of care; however, new services and facilities are on the horizon that will further expand the geographical reach and broaden medical service lines for patients.

Leadership opportunity for a Primary Care Physician with specialty in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. Preferred BC or BE with desire and commitment to achieve BC. This role encourages modeling through a strong clinical practice balanced with administrative time set aside to lead a team of primary care providers.

The Vice Chief of the department is responsible for the organization and conduct of the members of the Primary Care Department and to maintain the standards of patient care as outlined in the Chickasaw Nation Department of Health (CNDH) Bylaws, Policies and Procedures, department policies, and Joint Commission standards. The Vice Chief monitors and evaluates clinically related activities of the department and is a voice to provide viewpoints and recommendations from his/her department.

Cooperates with other departments and clinics to improve patient care, to help providers in other departments improve their skills, and to participate in educational programs conducted by the Medical Staff. Provides oversight of the professional performance of all individuals in the department who have delineated clinical privileges and supports and communicates the CNDH Mission, Vision and Core Values.

The Vice Chief continuously assesses and guides quality of care improvement, treatment, services, and maintains a quality control program as appropriate. He/she ensures orientation and continuing education of all persons in the medical staff department with the ongoing goal to improve patient care.

Warehousing and inventory control of Winter Fruit and Vegetable Benefit (WFVB) Food Items under supervision of Site Specialist.
Receive and inspect produce deliveries. Keeping an inventory of fresh produce. On a daily basis produce will be inspected for freshness and will be removed if needed.
Packing and distributing benefit packages to Chickasaw Seniors.
Transport food between Nutrition Centers and central warehouse and also to outlying distribution sites.
Provide assistance in distributing FMNP checks, farmer and client training, vendor compliance buys and troubleshooting at markets as needed.
Provide assistance with Summer Food, Healthy Chickasaw Children and other Nutrition Services Programs as needed.
Must always provide quality customer service to all building guests.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Required - Knowledge of general office equipment, and computers.
Required - Skills in computer hardware and software applications, with the ability to enter data.
Required - Must posess a minimal understanding of special populations, including sensitivity to the Native American Culture.
Required - Ability to communicate effectively with peers, public and remain professional in all circumstances.
Required - Ability to shift focus when asked to assist with a project that needs immediate attention.
Required - Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
Education:
GED Required - High School Diploma or GED.
Education Note:
Training And Experience:
Preferred Experience (0 - 6 months) - Experience with the Native American family dynamic preferred.
Preferred Experience (0 - 6 months) - Esperience with federally funded assistance programs preferred.
Licenses, Certifications, Other:
Required - Good driving record required with a valid driver's license.
Required - Ongoing Chickasaw Nation policy and procedure courses.
Required - Reliable and continually available transportation.
Physical Requirements:
Required - Loading and transporting WFVB food items.
Required - Loading and transporting office equipment and supplies for FMNP issuance.
Required - Must be able to lift 40-60 pounds.
