Who We're Looking For:

As a Contract Human Resource Business Partner, you’ll be part of a hard-working and collaborative People Team taking ownership of and managing the administration of all HR functions including HR technologies, on-boarding of new hires, supporting recruiting efforts, retention, employee relations, performance management, career planning, and training. You will partner with accounting to execute on HR compliance, benefits administration and payroll. Primary role is to support the business and its team members by providing an effective, proactive Contract Human Resource function to meet their needs in line with business goals and objectives.

This is a contract hybrid position based in Dupont Circle, Washington D.C. and will report to the Head of People.

Responsibilities:
• Partner with internal stakeholders to implement strategies for employee engagement and retention, including staff recognition and rewards programs, implementing new tools, processes, and programs, and evaluating existing ones, to ensure alignment with meeting business and employee needs
• Oversee and execute the roll-out of company-wide initiatives, including employee communications, professional development, on-the-job training, and compliance topics
• Ensure excellent customer service is provided to all employees and managers with empathy and integrity
• Manage benefits administration process for onboarding and offboarding employees
• Prepare and analyze HR metrics and provide reports that support decision-making in specified areas
• Support, develop, and implement strategies to increase diversity, equity & inclusion within the organization
• Update and maintain all employee files and records in electronic and paper form within BambooHR
• Conduct employee onboarding and new hire orientation; manage the employee off-boarding process, termination, and exit processes
• Create and/or update policies, procedures, and guidelines as needed
• Assist with the performance management process that support career growth and development that includes evaluation cycles, manager coaching, and issue resolution
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation. Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements, advise management on needed actions to remain compliant
• Function as the primary liaison to internal committees and working groups
• Drive and participate in employee engagement & culture activities
• Manage the communication and rollout of HR programs and policies
• Investigate, coach, recommend and guide resolutions with employees and people leader
• Ensure that all company policies and procedures are up to date and aligned with current federal and state employment laws
• Stay current on HR technologies and seek ways to improve employee experience and administrative efficiency via technology
• Manage the engagement software, sending surveys and creating action plans
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed

Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree in related field
• SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP certification
• Minimum 7 years of experience working in human resources is required, preferably with a broad scope of responsibilities
• Results-oriented individual who operates with the business outcomes in mind while ensuring the best employee experience and drives continuous improvement
• Benefit administration knowledge including managing benefit programs
• Experience working with and optimizing HR platforms; ideally experience with BambooHR, Culture Amp and Greenhouse
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Outstanding attention to detail and follow through
• Ability to navigate and thrive in a fast paced, high growth environment
• Friendly, energetic and comfortable operating in a fluid environment

Responsibilities
• Guide a team of SEO/content professionals in content development and execution to support business growth goals.
• Partner with the Director of Performance Marketing to set initial content priorities and align on expectations for your role.
• Work with internal subject matter experts to ideate on new content initiatives like short-form videos, podcast, interactive tools, webinars, reports and more that align with marketing themes and objectives.
