This role is based in our New York office location.
We believe that people do their best work when they are together. As a company, we’re in the marketplace of ideas and innovation. When you’re constantly innovating, changing how an industry works, inventing new products and processes - and we are doing all these things - we believe we’re better as a team in-person. That’s why all of our teams (except for our field-based roles) are now working from one of our office locations 5 days a week. We take underutilized properties and transform them into smart kitchens so they can better serve restaurateurs, customers, and the neighborhoods they're in. Every time we launch a new facility we create jobs in that neighborhood, and we're proud to provide a wide range of cuisines and options for healthy food at an affordable price.
We're changing the game for restaurateurs whether they're entrepreneurs opening their first restaurant through to your favorite global quick-service restaurant chains.
What you'll do
• Formulate project budgets, and qualifications and develop contractor and vendor RFP documents (scope narratives, schedules, etc.), lead job walks and selection/award review meetings.
• Monitor contractors' work for compliance with schedule, budget, quality, and overall conformance with the contract documents.
• Attend progress meetings, develop status reports, and deliver presentations, as required
• Coordinate activities with other staff, departments, and public agencies.
• Bidding contracts and managing consultants including architects, engineers, contractors, permit expeditors.
• Assist Design in coordinating sub-consultant disciplines, lead design-assist involvement, and establish design-to-budget parameters with multiple trades from preconstruction, and through the buy-out of those trades.
• Provide value engineering assessment of alternative design solutions including initial cost, schedule implications, and constructability issues.
• Manage or oversee cost control measures, including allowances, contingencies, cost-to-complete logs, change order requests, and invoicing.
What we're looking for
• 5+ years leading complex construction projects, including utility upgrades.
• Experience assisting acquisition teams in analyzing new properties.
• Strong experience working with the New York DOB and FDNY.
• Food and beverage or Restaurant experience is a plus.
