The second half of the class centers on the history of French and American haute cuisine, and how cuisines change in response to technological developments, global events, and shifting cultural attitudes and beliefs toward food and eating.

Reporting directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean provides oversight of the School’s educational vision/objectives and curriculum development, and supervises both... full-time and part-time faculty engaged in teaching, service, and professional development/scholarly activities. The Dean also coordinates assessment of student learning outcomes, promotes retention and operational effectiveness, manages fiscal performance, collaborates with other deans and senior administrators in Academic Affairs, and acts as the lead spokesperson to advance the interests of the School both internally and externally.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with faculty across the campuses to oversee curriculum development in the areas of business management and hospitality education that maintains rigor, currency, and attention to emerging trends in the food industry.
• Work with faculty to ensure high quality delivery of academic programming and services, and maintain staffing excellence.
• Collaborate with Admissions/Enrollment Services and the Center for Career and Academic Advising to partner in recruitment of high caliber students.
• Work with the Center for Career and Academic Advising, Registrar and Admissions Offices to monitor incoming student flow and expectations.
• Oversee planning and coordination for bachelor’s concentrations within the School’s curriculum.
• Collaborate with associate deans at the branch campuses to ensure operational effectiveness for bachelor’s concentrations.
• Oversee educational performance, retention, and evaluation to ensure that high academic quality and standards are maintained.
• Lead the School’s efforts to engage in a robust and meaningful learning outcomes assessment process.
• Cultivate an environment supportive of faculty engagement in scholarship and research.
• Lead the annual budget process for the School, and maintain careful oversight of revenues/expenses and fiscal performance throughout the year.
• Coordinate with the Director of Accreditation and Assessment around the School’s periodic program review process.
• Develop strategies to facilitate the recruitment, advancement and retention of high-quality faculty.
• Assist with the alignment of the branch campuses and Hyde Park in terms of curriculum, educational standards, and the mission and values of the CIA.
• Assist in the coordination, development and implementation of programs and services that positively impact student success and engagement.
• Work in coordination with the School of Graduate and Professional Studies in the design and delivery of business-related master’s programs.
• Partner with the Advancement Office to represent the interests of the School and advocate for its support through donor cultivation, grant writing and other revenue enhancing activities.
• Partner with appropriate staff on all facilities-related issues that support the effectiveness of the student educational experience.
• Partner with the Career Services and Alumni Offices to ensure that students achieve meaningful employment outcomes upon graduation.

• Work with faculty and Education staff to ensure that the integration of technology is effective as well as appropriate and relevant to the classroom and the foodservice industry.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
• Master’s degree in business or hospitality management or a related discipline.

Experience:
• A minimum of ten (10) years of combined experience as a faculty member, progressive leadership experience within a higher education environment, experience within an applied food/hospitality business environment, or other related experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• An earned terminal degree in business or hospitality management or a related discipline.
• Experience in the creation of new business ventures and entrepreneurism.
• Experience and/or knowledge of the food and beverage industry.
• Experience as a program director, department chair or dean in a higher education institution.

The Director of Accounting Operations & Treasury is responsible for the day-to-day management of accounting and treasury/cash management operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable, billing and accounts payable - hands on director role. The Director oversees the accounting staff involved in general accounting, treasury and cash management, accounts payable... accounts receivable, and branch campus accounting operations. The Director manages the audit of annual financial statements and A133 audit of federal financial aid. to successfully execute upon all accounting and financial reporting responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including but not limited to general accounting, cash management/treasury operations, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Design, implement and maintain appropriate accounting policies and procedures to enable accurate and timely financial reporting, which is compliant with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate monthly and fiscal year end accounting close process with internal staff and external auditors, including deadlines to meet all reporting requirements.
• Manage the timely preparation of the annual audit. Coordinate with external auditors to promote an efficient, productive audit of the internal controls and financial records including the A133 audit of federal funds. Works closely with the Director of Finance to prepare and execute data needs and footnotes required by external auditor.
• Monitor key internal controls to ensure compliance with the CIA’s policies and procedures.
• Manage and monitors the production of the Cash Summary Statement on a daily basis including preparation of cash flow projections on a monthly basis.
• Manage short-term investment strategy.
• Direct the Institute’s electronic banking activity, including but not limited to wires, ACH, direct deposits, and transfers. The banking activity includes both domestic and international transactions. Monitor bank service fees and addresses quality issues.
• Monitor incoming revenues and Accounts Payable disbursements and cash flow requirements. Ensure proper processing of payments including bi-weekly payroll, direct deposit, employment taxes and TIAA retirement funding.
• Oversee the reconciliation of revenue accounts including tuition and fees for all degree and certificate students for all campuses.
• Ensure the correct and timely reconciliation of the Institute’s subsidiary systems for accounts receivable, student accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial aid, continuing education, gifts received and special events to the General Ledger.
• Recommend, implement, and maintain process improvements in the area of accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.
• Oversee and manage the hiring, professional development, and annual evaluation process for staff.
• All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field of study.

Experience:
• Minimum of ten (10) years of work-related experience in multiple areas of accounting and finance.
• Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience, including the leadership of a cross-functional team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Professional certification (CPA, CMA, or CFM) strongly preferred.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ERP financial systems, with a specific knowledge of Oracle preferred.
• Experience in preparing cash forecasts and cash flow analysis.
• Non-profit and/or higher education experience an asset.
