About the role

China Medical Head is a senior leadership role representing UCB’s science and medical leadership externally and internally.

What you’ll do
• Medical Strategic Planning

Build the country Medical Affairs strategic plans, ensure the country plans and deliverables are consistently executed according to UCB global standards and local requirements.
• Medical Capability Excellence Leadership

Build a robust medical transversal team, drive medical excellence & frameworks to enhance quality and effectiveness in China. Ensure the consistency with global standards and valuable input contributes to GMA
• Medical Compliance & Scientific Integrity

Propose and set up new processes & systems for medical governance, by ensuring all local SOPs are established and revised according to UCB global SOPs and the local code of conducts, guidelines and laws
• Medical External Leadership Interface & Engagement

Represent the medical voice and the patient value culture of the company externally and initiate cross-industry collaboration on medical topics, across entire portfolio

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
• Substantial Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical industry, (5-8+ years in senior position) preferably across various therapeutic areas or similar experience
• Proven track record of contribution to cross functional asset teams, and medical (in country).
• Successful track record of initiating and leading cross-business/cross-functional planning, collaborating and solution building
• Experience of leading teams and work with cross functional teams and matrix teams with evidence of success in co-creating and implementing innovative governance programs and externally focused solutions.
• Solid peer relationships with and exposure to external scientific/ clinical experts, professional & pharma associations; demonstrated ability to proactively engage internal and external leaders and serve as a medical expert
