The Assistant Controller manages the general accounting, non-student accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll processes of the college. This position, in conjunction with the Controller, is responsible for the recording, analyzing and maintenance of all financial records of the institution.
• Directly supervise one Senior Staff Accountant, including planning and evaluations, with day-to-day assistance as needed in all areas of the department. Provide training and coaching in order to develop staff potential and improve department efficiency. Provide indirect supervision and support for one Accounting Technician III, one Accounting Technician IV, one Accounting Technician III, and one Accounting Technician II. Provide indirect supervision and support for one Accounts Payable Technician III, and one Staff Accountant.
• Assist Controller with planning and evaluating the day-to-day operations of all the functions of the Fiscal Office; keep Controller informed of potential issues.
• Work cross functionally with all areas of the college on financial matters and grant and contract activities to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Implement recommendations from the external financial auditors; review and update fiscal objectives and procedures to assure compliance. Develop and maintain proper internal accounting controls to meet audit standards. Ensure that all department reconciliations are completed on a regular basis.
• Ensure transactions are properly recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Higher Education Accounting Standards, State Fiscal Rules, CCCS and College policies; and all regulations governing the grant funding received by CCD.
• Review and approve entries made in CORE and reconcile to Banner as needed; provide review and approval of journal entries in Banner. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes maintaining accuracy in both Banner and CORE financial systems.
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Education:(Minimum/Required)
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration/Management, Finance, or related field.
Experience: (required/minimum)
Three (3) years of progressively responsible accounting or auditing experience.
Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: (required/minimum)
• Sound knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) including knowledge of State of Colorado Fiscal Rules, Colorado Financial Reporting System (CORE), Banner Finance and Student systems, Federal Uniform Guidance, CCCS Fiscal Procedures, and Higher Education Accounting Standards.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to analyze complex systems and make recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability in problem solving, multitasking, and time management.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point packages, automated accounting systems and related subsystems, and Banner Software.

Under the direction of the Executive Director of Strategy for the Community College of Denver (CCD), the Marketing & Communications department is responsible for the College's public website, including content management, internal support, SEO and advancement of the ccd.edu user experience through high-value content writing. The Web Content Specialist will play an important part in the continued advancement of the website through writing SEO-rich content and providing both guidance and support for content editors across the College.

Duties and Responsibilities
Web Content Writing
• Write, edit, and maintain content on the CCD.edu website to ensure accurate, up-to-date, engaging, and SEO-rich content that attracts potential new students, informs the target audience, and reinforces the college brand.
• Evaluate and improve existing content across ccd.edu sites for the purpose of improving SEO value for ccd.edu and all connected sites.
• Meet with subject matter experts to write program-specific content.
• Create innovative, cohesive, and intuitive front-end user interface designs.
Website Support
• Support departments across campus in managing and improving their ccd.edu pages.
• Curate website submissions and enhance and maintain existing content.
• Conduct training for content editors across the College.
• Become an expert in the content management system.
Overall
• Implement the College's public website governance plan.

• Proactively monitor the site for branding, user experience, and ADA Sec. 508 compliance.

Marketing and Intake
Communicate with potential students to explain and explore ELL options.
Collaborate with staff to identify college and workforce pathway requirements.
Communicate pathways to students and employers.
Provide check-ins to students during the enrollment process.
Monitor sign up and revise intake, sign up, and class selection forms.
Create and give presentations to potential students.
Write clear messages for marketing, the web site, email, and orientations.
Success Coach
Work with college and workforce partners to support students in selecting a pathway and identify barriers that may prohibit success.
Coach students to meet goals by developing concrete action plans.
Support advisors on college admissions, registration, and financial issues.
Track and maintain records on student progress to meet goals.
Assist with workforce readiness measures
Assist grant coordinator with required AELA orientations, intakes, assessments, and progress measures/outcomes required by the grant.
Transition Navigator and Process Improvement
Assist with registration, intake and assessment of incoming students.
Assist new and returning students to troubleshoot and address student needs.
Monitor ELL completion and coordinate next steps of their pathway, prioritizing college and workforce partners.
Analyze process problems and bottlenecks to make improvements.
In coordination with the Program Director and Center for Workforce Initiatives, grow partnerships and pilot ELL training on-site.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification:
• An active Unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado.
Experience: (required/minimum)
• Documented knowledge and skills related to teaching adults, teaching methodology, curriculum development, and curriculum evaluation.
• Two years of full-time, or equivalent, clinical experience as a practicing registered nurse.
• Two years of full-time, or equivalent, experience in teaching in an approved Nursing Education Program. Such experience must be at or above the level of the Nursing Education Program the individual will be directing.

Purpose/Summary
The Vice President of Business Operations/Chief Financial Officer (VPBO/CFO) is the Chief Financial Officer and a senior executive on the leadership team reporting to the President. The VPBO/CFO has broad responsibilities for strategic planning, enrollment management, developing and supporting personnel, and leadership for the administrative/business policies and functions of the College in support of student success. As chief accounting and reporting officer, this position assumes overall accountability and responsibility for the College's financial, general accounting, contracts, purchasing, accounts payable and receivable, and funding operations. The VPBO/CFO establishes and updates the College's financial policies and standards in accordance with Colorado Community College System policies and the policies of the State of Colorado Office of the Controller and other applicable state entities. The VPBO/CFO leads the planning, direction and administration of the College's support services which include, but limited to, facilities planning and development, coordination with the Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) business operations, physical plant management, institutional and instructional technology, as well as coordination with Colorado Community College System (CCCS) leadership. Within an environment valuing inclusivity at all levels of the College, the VPBO/CFO supports statewide and system-wide initiatives, implements/evaluates college-wide finance and administration policies and processes, and in consultation with faculty, staff, students, and Executive Staff, provides strategic and financial strategies to strengthen CCD facilities, specifically, the continued development and implementation of AHEC Campus Master Plan and CCD capital projects.
As a member of the Executive Staff, VPBO/CFO contributes to the overall innovation, strategic planning, and financial well-being of the College, developing financial plans and strategies to support and fulfill the College's vision, mission, and values. The VPBO/CFO champions faculty/instructors and students through supporting innovation, removing barriers to success, and responding in a timely manner to a rapidly changing environment. The VPBO/CFO consults with members of the president's cabinet to address internal and external matters that affect the attainment of the college's goals and works collaboratively to ensure the college meets its goals. The VPBO/CFO is an effective communicator - both in storytelling and crisis communications, has political sensibility and relations, boundless compassion for those that we serve, and an entrepreneurial spirit. The VPBO/CFO monitors changes and trends in student enrollment, best practices, the labor market, and financial accountability and leads change to respond to such. The VPBO/CFO has a high degree of digital literacy and dexterity, collects, and analyzes data to inform decision making, and implements best practices to yield positive outcomes for our students, employees, and community. In collaboration with the Provost and the Executive Director of Strategy, the VPBO/CFO significantly contributes to the consistent review of the health of programs through financial viability and efficiency data and analysis. Purpose/Summary
The Vice President of Business Operations/Chief Financial Officer (VPBO/CFO) is the Chief Financial Officer and a senior executive on the leadership team reporting to the President. The VPBO/CFO has broad responsibilities for strategic planning, enrollment management, developing and supporting personnel, and leadership for the administrative/business policies and functions of the College in support of student success. As chief accounting and reporting officer, this position assumes overall accountability and responsibility for the College's financial, general accounting, contracts, purchasing, accounts payable and receivable, and funding operations. The VPBO/CFO establishes and updates the College's financial policies and standards in accordance with Colorado Community College System policies and the policies of the State of Colorado Office of the Controller and other applicable state entities. The VPBO/CFO leads the planning, direction and administration of the College's support services which include, but limited to, facilities planning and development, coordination with the Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) business operations, physical plant management, institutional and instructional technology, as well as coordination with Colorado Community College System (CCCS) leadership. The VPBO/CFO has a high degree of digital literacy and dexterity, collects, and analyzes data to inform decision making, and implements best practices to yield positive outcomes for our students, employees, and community. In collaboration with the Provost and the Executive Director of Strategy, the VPBO/CFO significantly contributes to the consistent review of the health of programs through financial viability and efficiency data and analysis. Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares the College budget and manages the budget development process at the college.
Assist the College President in presenting budgets to the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education (SBCCOE) and other state agencies as required.
Provide oversight and leadership for the development and control of college-wide facilities, specifically existing shared facilities and the AHEC Campus Master Plan.
Reviews and analyzes major contractual obligations of the College to ensure consistency with overall financial goals, objectives, and plans, and compliance with College, System, and State financial policies, procedures and standards.
Provide accurate, timely financial information to appropriate internal and external agencies.
Establish and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the College's organizational goals and objectives; and oversees recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of all administration and finance staff.
Initiate contracts, negotiates, develops collaborative agreements, and maintains relationships and partnerships established with business, external organizations, College constituency groups, AHEC, and system affiliations, especially Chief Business Officers within the CCCS.
Develop, implement, and enforce administrative policies and procedures to assure that the College fiscal, facilities, personnel, and related activities are in compliance with State of Colorado Statutes, State of Colorado Fiscal rules, generally accepted accounting and financial practices, and federal laws or regulations where applicable.
Prepare for, respond to, and implement internal and external audit recommendations as necessary.
Oversee the functions of Fiscal Services, Information Technology, and Facility Services. Responsibilities include delegated appointing authority for the College.
Monitor and guide the fiscal year-end closing process, which includes preparation of annual financial statements.
Approve and implement best business practices related to all student financial transactions, such as tuition collections, student refunds, and auxiliary functions.
