ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the Manager of Technical Support, the IT Senior Technician assists in the implementation, troubleshooting, and ongoing administration of the library’s computer, network, phone, and mobile equipment. Provides exceptional customer service and technical support to end-users.
• Work with the Manager of Technical Support to maintain and support both public and staff computers consisting of Windows, Chrome OS, and Mac devices. Occasional support of patrons using public machines required.
• Maintain equipment and software systems and assist with software and system upgrades as assigned.
• Maintain and support the library’s VoIP and mobile phones.
• Configure and deploy technical equipment such as Windows PCs, Chrome OS devices, Apple devices, tablets, scanners, and printers, as well as a variety of specialty library items.
• Troubleshoot common hardware and software problems and escalate high impact issues to the Manager of Technical Support.
• Provide tier 1 and 2 support for all Library applications such as LibCal and Sierra and escalate to vendors when necessary.
• Work to maintain an accurate inventory of library technology.
• Provide a high level of end-user support and training for library staff, including IT orientations for new library staff.
• Liaise with the City of Cambridge IT department to troubleshoot and resolve complex staff issues and collaborate on larger projects.
• Create and maintain documentation in the department knowledge base.
• Maintain technical proficiency in Windows, macOS, and Chrome OS software and hardware. Engage in training to ensure a high level of knowledge related to the latest technology.
• Provide supplemental support for all AV equipment including projectors, microphones, speakers, sound systems, and all other lecture hall and conference room equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service both internally and externally and perform job responsibilities in a professional manner.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned for the good of the department and library.
• In the case of after-hours emergencies, be reachable by City-provided cellphone to triage and escalate issues to other City or vendor contacts.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience performing technical support duties and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

Salary Range: $81,000 - $138,400

Position Description

The Government Engagement Manager will report to the Executive Director and work on three key fronts: 1) manage the Transition Term program, 2) launch and manage new communities of shared learning for state and local government leaders, 3) develop and leverage relationships with the state, county, and city leaders with whom we collaborate to better support them and create additional opportunities for HKS students, faculty, and alumni.

Relationship Management
• Independently tracks elections and leadership changes, and develops relationships with a diverse mix of state, county, and city elected officials, appointed senior leaders, and civil servants throughout the United States.
• Proactively and strategically identifies the priority needs of state and local government leaders with whom we collaborate to better connect them to HKS resources and create opportunities for HKS students, faculty, and alumni. This includes summer fellowships, research projects (including the Policy Analysis Exercise), and full-time job opportunities in state, county, and city governments
• Collaborates with the ED to attend priority state, county, and city government conferences to increase awareness and engagement of key stakeholders in order to advance the mission of the Taubman Center

Launching and Managing Communities of Shared Learning for Practitioners
• Works with the ED and key stakeholders to lead the development of the strategic direction and priority goals for new communities of shared learning for current state and local government leaders
• Using own discretion, guides and helps develop convening agendas, content, and overall attendee experience to create a meaningful community of shared learning for participants
• Using independent judgment, identifies and analyzes trends in state and local government challenges and solutions that should be incorporated into the community of practice agendas and content
• Implements and operationalizes strategies, tracks and evaluates progress on priority goals, captures stakeholder feedback, and recommends opportunities for continual improvement
• Collaborates with the Center's Program Coordinator to host engaging in-person and virtual convenings for these communities of shared learning
• Collaborates with the Center's Director of Communications to identify and disseminate informative stories and substance developed via these communities of shared learning
• Oversees the involvement and work of fellows and student research assistants

Managing the Transition Term program
• In collaboration with the ED and key stakeholders, leads the development of the strategic direction and priority goals for the Transition Term program. Implements and operationalizes developed strategies
• Manages all aspects of the program including, tracking, and evaluating progress on priority goals, capturing stakeholder feedback, and recommending opportunities for continual improvement
• Guides and helps develop convening agendas, content, and overall experience to create a meaningful community for participating administrations and students
• Using independent judgement, identifies and analyzes trends in state and local government transitions that should be incorporated into the student orientation agendas and content.
• Independently develops and manages a knowledge sharing library that can benefit newly elected administrations and students who will be serving them through Transition Term
• Collaborates with the Program Coordinator to provide operational support needed for all aspects of Transition Term, including the recruitment and selection of administrations and students, project scoping, student orientation and stipends, logistics of student travel and lodging, and the post-deployment debrief
• Proactively and independently identifies and implements strategies for the engagement of Transition Term alumni
• Oversees the selection, involvement, and work of fellows and student research assistant
