The Role
BuzzFeed News is seeking a driven, competitive reporter to hold the entertainment industry to account. Whether it's treatment of actors and staff on set, rooting out additional #MeToo horror stories, or disparities in compensation — there are a lot of rocks to turn over in Hollywood and the ideal candidate should be relentless in their desire to shine a light on whatever they find.
Given that, they should also have experience navigating courts and law enforcement agencies for records and sourcing on a regular basis.
This candidate should be comfortable taking on daily assignments and pitching story ideas related to the current news cycle, as well as the foresight to create evergreen content that serves our readers, often years down the line, such as definitive rankings of popular or niche shows, episodes, movies, etc. In this vein, we're looking for a real pop culture junkie who's not afraid to poke the hive with some hot takes!
This role will ideally be based in the greater Los Angeles area and report to our LA-based Entertainment News Editor.
You Will
• Have 2-5 years of entertainment industry reporting experience
• Have the ability to shift between longer term reporting ventures and daily assignments to meet staggered deadlines
• Have no problem collaborating with other desks and editors
• Have the kind of impeccable organizational skills it takes to catalog and track larger reporting projects

The Role
The BuzzFeed Fellowship is a year-long program for aspiring and hungry writers eager to hone their skills, and to learn by doing. The program is a crash course in how to consistently create content (both articles and videos) that capture readers’ attention, push the cultural conversation forward, and reach a massive audience.
Fellows need a keen eye for finding new and interesting stories happening both on and offline as well as a grasp of the nuanced cultural conversations happening all over the internet. We’re looking for people who are fascinated by social media, human psychology, and trends of all kinds. On any given day, you might be researching behind-the-scenes facts and Easter eggs about a trending piece of pop culture, testing out cooking hacks, or making a TikTok explaining a viral news topic.
Fellows will work with and learn from members of the BuzzFeed team — some of the smartest, weirdest, most creative, and most viral creators out there. This is the perfect opportunity for someone interested in pursuing a career in digital media. You won’t be running errands for senior staff, or transcribing someone else’s interviews, you will be pitching ideas, taking assignments, brainstorming, collaborating, and writing dozens of stories that will be published to BuzzFeed.com and promoted across our social channels. You will also create (or collaborate with team members to create) vertical video (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts).
The Fellowship is fun and inspiring, but also fast-paced and challenging.

The Role
BuzzFeed News is seeking a driven, competitive reporter to hold the entertainment industry to account. Whether it's treatment of actors and staff on set, rooting out additional #MeToo horror stories, or disparities in compensation — there are a lot of rocks to turn over in Hollywood and the ideal candidate should be relentless in their desire to shine a light on whatever they find.
Given that, they should also have experience navigating courts and law enforcement agencies for records and sourcing on a regular basis.
This candidate should be comfortable taking on daily assignments and pitching story ideas related to the current news cycle, as well as the foresight to create evergreen content that serves our readers, often years down the line, such as definitive rankings of popular or niche shows, episodes, movies, etc. In this vein, we're looking for a real pop culture junkie who's not afraid to poke the hive with some hot takes!
This role will ideally be based in the greater Los Angeles area and report to our LA-based Entertainment News Editor.
You Will
• Have 2-5 years of entertainment industry reporting experience
• Have the ability to shift between longer term reporting ventures and daily assignments to meet staggered deadlines
• Have no problem collaborating with other desks and editors
• Have the kind of impeccable organizational skills it takes to catalog and track larger reporting projects
• Be willing to represent BuzzFeed News on other media platforms
