Billboard En Español is looking for a Deputy Editor to oversee daily content production on the site, ensuring high productivity, exceptional quality, and the consistent growth of traffic month over month. The Deputy Editor will report to Billboard’s VP of Latin Music and will manage and nurture a team of writers based across Latin territories. The position requires a minimum of seven years experience in a fast-paced digital newsroom; a deep knowledge of, and passion for, Latin music and the Latin music industry; a keen eye for news; and top-notch leadership and organization skills. Most important, our Deputy Editor will be excited about leading a new, unique venture and will approach it with a “get it done” attitude and gusto that will be inspiring and effective.

Who You Are:
• 7 years of experience reporting in an established, fast-paced media outlet, with focus on music, entertainment and business as a plus.
• A minimum of 3 yearsof editing experience and 3 years of managing a content team, including writers, editors, freelancers, social media and video producers.
• A fully bilingual (native Spanish speaker preferred) journalist who lives comfortably in between the two worlds: mainstream and Latino-centric; Spanish and English. Impeccable spoken and written Spanish is a must.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

· Install and maintain all billboards.

· Erect and dismantle billboard structures.

· Responsible for structure and vegetation maintenance, including painting, repairing structures and all related parts, cutting and trimming trees, etc.

· Maintain and construct structures - Perform repairs that include but are not limited to: tightening bolts, painting steel structures, repairing trim and various parts of the sign face and structure, change light bulbs as needed, paint structures, assemble structures and faces when required.

· Load/organize trucks with daily supply of tools and other materials and drive to sign site.

· Responsible for pre and post trip preparations including completing documentation of trip as well as vehicle and equipment maintenance.

· Set up ladders and safety equipment to climb signs.

· Responsible for basic electrical maintenance such as replacing light bulbs.

· Ensure that the shop and materials yard is clean, organized, and that old billboard vinyl’s and structure material are stored properly or prepared for recycling.

· Attend construction and installation safety meetings as required and adhere to all safety regulations.

· Responsible for taking completion photos for proof of performance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

· Ability to climb heights and work at heights above ground safely.

· Good communication skills. Ability to speak and read English fluently.

· Ability to safely use construction and vegetation equipment, in regard to the construction and maintenance of outdoor structures.

· Ability to learn to safely use welding and torching equipment.

· Physically capable to perform assigned tasks.

· Use a smart phone for various job tasks.

· Skill in the practical applications of mathematics, in relation to construction and operations tasks.

· General knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Franklin safety regulations/requirements and behavioral standards.

· A restriction-free CDL license is highly encouraged.

· Drive and operate boom, digger derrick and bucket trucks.

· Must be able to pass a drug screening.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· Valid driver’s license.

· Ability to complete OSHA 10 hour construction course.
