WHO YOU ARE

The Documentation Specialist is responsible for creating enterprise documentation for business policies, processes and procedures, program guides, and presentations. This position is the primary point of contact for all business documents and is responsible for outlining a long-term storage strategy, working with colleagues to ensure consistency of documentation practices across the company, and training employees in efficient documentation usage.

Requirements:

WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Develop and implement document management and control strategies.
• Work cross-departmentally with subject matter experts to gain a working knowledge of company’s business and technology.
• Create and/or utilize approved document templates to develop enterprise documentation.
• Develop, organize, and deliver documents, including but not limited to end-to-end business processes, workflows, procedure manuals, technical reference materials, and user guides.
• Update documents in accordance with the change management processes.
• Ensure documentation integrity.
• Produce high-quality documents and deliverables that are easy to understand.
• Ensure that documents are stored in an orderly manner and are easily accessible to staff.
• Train employees in efficient documentation usage.
• Drive standardization through defined documentation templates and ensure consistency of documentation practice across the company.
• Proofread documents upon request.
• Identify and document applicable risks and controls.
• Suggest innovative approaches for documentation.
• Ensure all stakeholders are kept well informed through periodic updates.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Work professionally and harmoniously with teams across various lines of business and departments.
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
• Associate degree in a related field. Equivalent work experience in a related field may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
• Minimum of 2+ years of documentation creation and management experience required.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Office 365 Suites and workflow development software such as Lucid Chart preferred.
• Extremely detailed-oriented and capable of multitasking.
• Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives, and exercise independent judgment.
• Ability to build collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders within the organization through cooperation and mutual respect with the capacity to help users understand processes and systems.
• Demonstrated commitment to the values of diversity, inclusion, and equity.

This position involves sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing, use of typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop, and cell phone. May include light work that includes moving objects up to twenty (20) pounds independently or with assistance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

» Conducts Health Level-7 (HL7), and other healthcare data interoperability protocols, interface development and data conversion.

» Builds HL7 interface system components.

» Works with Affiliates to analyze, design, document, test, troubleshoot and coordinate implementation of HL7 interfaces.

» Build, maintain and support Cloverleaf

» Collects workflow information and develop interface specifications and data flow diagrams

» Provides maintenance, support, and coding enhancements for existing interfaces and applications to meet integration needs between Epic and other clinical and financial applications.

» Conducts data analysis, data transformation and data load into Epic database for both population health and new ambulatory practices.

» Monitors interface and application error logs to overcome production and testing issues.

» Validates interface logic and measure log files.

» Creates, modifies and tests message structures, events and connections.

» Conducts operating system, cache, and Epic Bridges upgrades and executes database backup and recovery procedures.

» Creates and maintains scripts for billing and clinical workflows.

» Creates and maintains test interfaces.

» Participates in change management, disaster recovery and production support operations.
