In addition to managing a robust slate of monthly editing assignments, this role will function as a gatekeeper for content strategy and performance. Working closely with our SEO and link-building partners, this person will help us identify gaps and opportunities in our monthly content push.

Content ranges in coverage from the latest credit card news to educational pieces about credit scores and reports, account management, earning and redeeming rewards, business credit, consumer law, monetary policy, data security and payment technology.

The right candidate will be able to identify topics and develop quality, engaging content with a quick turnaround, as well as work closely with SEO.

What You'll Do:
• Identify, pitch, assign, and edit credit card-related stories
• Produce high-quality, well-researched content at a fast pace
• Stay up to date on industry news and trends to detect content opportunities
• Use content schedule and topical foci to identify the highest potential content refresh opportunities
• Always be thinking of ways to optimize our processes for the benefit of the department
• Identify content needs, gaps and pain points—for both our audience and our internal strategy
• Update existing content (guides, comparisons, news, etc.) for timeliness and accuracy
• Edit internally and externally produced content in line with AP style and brand voice and tone
• Check story drafts for errors, typos, and linking opportunities
• Prepare, upload, and maintain stories on content management system (WordPress)
• Manage workload of 5-7 freelance writers, communicating opportunities to boost content quality

What We're Looking For:
• 3+ years writing/editing experience
• Excellent project management and communication skills
• Experience with Google Analytics. Looker, AHREFS, Semrush, or other data-inquiry tools
