Travel: This position requires 50% out-of-the-area and overnight travel, including some international travel.
The Vice-President, Business Development - Aerospace Defense Distribution will:
• Primary Responsibility is to develop new OEM principal candidates and product lines
• Engage senior decision-makers at principal candidates
• Establish internal and external requirements for successful distribution
• Negotiate and secure distributor agreements with principals
Essential Duties and Functions:
• Lead new principal marketing plan execution, candidate identification and candidate engagement
• Generate opportunity awareness and candidate leads via industry conferences, industry associations, marketing campaigns and candidate pursuits
• Assemble and conduct presentations to principal candidates
• Organize industry conference participation
• Identify and act on industry growth trends and opportunities
• Fully engage in the company's sales and marketing operating system, status updates, planning and improvement
• Develop and write distribution proposals and negotiate associated contracts
• Lead all activities for new principal opportunities
• Ensure the company’s consistent, high level of customer service and satisfaction
• Experience in distribution, primarily in the Aerospace - Defense sector.
• Three to five years’ experience in building new distribution business of OEM product lines
• Experience in technical product sales to a range of aerospace and related industry verticals including commercial aviation, defense, space, marine and energy.
• Experience in aerospace business-to-business relationship building from introduction through contract execution.
• Experience executing new business marketing campaigns
• Experience presenting one-on-one and to groups, in person and virtual
Other Skills and Abilities:
• Highly motivated self-starter who is organized, analytical, and passionate about sales growth and providing excellent customer service.
• Experience with sales rep and distributor contracts
• Ability to communicate company and technical information in an engaging manner, written and verbal
• Excellent attention to detail and quality
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
