This role requires high-energy and the ability to create excitement for those in the early stages of awareness. Ideal candidates have experience selling crop inputs, understand row crop production, are passionate for sustainability including soil health, fertility, and water quality, and are eager to disrupt the status quo with new, innovative solutions. Successful candidates demonstrate discipline, consistency, and an ability to stay engaged in repetitive activities (managing inbound leads and cold-calling). Inside Sales Reps work closely within their team on sales proficiency and receive coaching, mentorship, and sales skill development on an ongoing basis.

This position reports to Sr. Manager, Inside Sales and is based remotely across the United States. Travel expectations are minimal to non-existent throughout the year, but increase during trade show season (ISRs may be on the road up to 50% of the time between Aug-Oct and Jan-Mar).

The position will be located at University Park, PA. Position Description: Penn State's Agricultural Safety and Health Program is known throughout Pennsylvania, the Northeast and nationally for its innovative and interactive safety demonstrations and simulators and leadership in these areas. This position provides leadership for research, teaching and Extension/outreach efforts with Pennsylvania farmers, agricultural producers, and first responders. The position oversees and provides leadership to the programs related to interactions with agricultural and food production organizations, medical professionals, high school agricultural education programs, and county Extension Educators in program development and demonstrations. The position also oversees and provides programming vision for the National Safe Tractor and Machinery Operation Program (NSTMOP) student and Instructor Training. Instructors have trained thousands of students enabling them to obtain their US Department of Labor certification to work off their family farm. The NSTMOP material has been used to train adults, such as new and beginning farmers, veteran farmers, women in agriculture, and even used in the prison system to train inmates. The position also has the opportunity to lead the existing Ag Rescue Training Program to engage and train first responders about hazards associated with agricultural operations and proper management of emergencies. The position will be encouraged to develop additional externally funded programs in agricultural safety and health related to the candidate’s specific areas of expertise. The successful candidate will assume leadership of an established group of professional staff. These dedicated personnel will assist in implementing the outreach and research missions. Penn State’s Agricultural Safety & Health team controls a large, dedicated space to house its assets and operations, and oversees an impressive array of equipment to facilitate demonstrations, training and research. Key assets include multiple vehicles, demonstration trailers, fabrication tools, and digital resources. The program also has a strong history of external partnerships. Collaborative arrangements are possible with such entities as the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and Penn State's Hershey College of Medicine. The appointment will be 60% Extension, 25% Research, and 15% Teaching. The Extension and research program will focus on the integration of applications of engineering and technology solutions to hazards and risks, theory-based educational approaches to safety education, and the promotion of safety and health best management practices to reduce exposure to hazards and risk in agricultural and biorenewable industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for the instruction of one course, BRS 426, Safety and Health in Agriculture and Biorenewable Industries (3 credits).
