The challenge

The Web Platform Team is responsible for delivering great user experiences to our customers on Adobe.com. We are looking for an Engineer to implement cutting-edge web applications using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). The ideal candidate for this position loves writing code, is passionate about the web, and about finding success through a cooperative team culture.

What you'll do
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business owners, product management, product teams, IT, and vendors.
• Lead software projects, including defining, assigning, providing technical guidance and monitoring of work performed.
• Interface directly with customers to understand software issues and provide innovative solutions.
• Research tools, technologies and software development processes and propose innovative, leading-edge solutions.
• Collaborate with other team members and contributors to the code base to properly understand problems being faced and to arrive at the best possible solutions.
• Deliver development assignments as specified and within the project schedule deadlines.
• Act as a custodian for the shared codebase, reviewing contributions made by other teams to ensure that proper tests are written, established conventions are followed, and backwards compatibility is maintained.
What you need to succeed
• Major in software engineering or computer science with a BS degree and 5 years of working experience
• Experience with Java and server-side development
• Experience with the open source foundations behind Adobe Experience Manager, including Apache Sling, Apache Maven, JCR, and OSGi.
• Experience with Enterprise Content Management systems
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks and preprocessors (Node.js, React, Underscore, Bootstrap, Webpack, LESS, etc)
• Knowledge of semantic markup and standard methodologies for search engine optimization
• Experience administering and debugging of Web servers
• Experience with source control management (ideally using Git/GitHub)
• Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM development practices
• Ability to work on contending priorities and adapt to changes in project scope
• Strong communication skills, enabling work with remote teams and vendors

Lead teams and partnerships

What you need to succeed
• 5+ years of product management experience with web marketing
• 3+ years of developing a team, preferably web product managers
• BA/BS degree in a technical field preferred or equivalent practical experience. MS or MBA a plus.
• Regularly worked with digital designs and web usability. A good eye for seamless user experience.
• Use data to test hypotheses, provide options, and make compelling recommendations
• Understanding of digital marketing technologies, Adobe’s Experience Cloud preferred (e.g. AEM, Analytics, Target).
• Ability to build trust and relationships and thoughtfully navigate interpersonal dynamics
• Creative problem solver, adaptability to change and open to new insights or technologies
• Experience in running 3rd party supplier contracts and budgets

The Opportunity
