The Creative Media Institute at New Mexico State University invites applications for the position of Student Program Coord, Sr. This position is responsible for assisting students with navigating University systems and processes; advocate on student’s behalf, problem solve as necessary; collaborates on the development and coordination of student support programs, special projects, and other initiatives geared to the recruitment and retention of students; prepare or assist with the preparation of scheduled and/or ad hoc statistical and narrative reports; interface between students and community internships and career opportunities; Utilize appropriate technology in order to disseminate information and communications; Capacity to design and fabricate marketing and recruitment materials using design software; supervises student centric departmental website and blog updates. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Assure compliance with DACC/NMSU policies as well as state and federal guidelines for Veterans' Educational benefits. Serves as the lead Veteran's Administration certifying official between the Department of Veteran Affairs and the college to ensure compliance with VA Education benefits. Ensure timely and correct certification of veteran student enrollments. Serves as liaison between DACC students, faculty, and staff. Responsible for preparing student records/ VA packets for annual audit as well as special compliance reports for the State of NM. Assist students in planning a college program of study, interpreting college placement test scores and determining readiness to begin college level work and other academic advising to maintain their VA Educational benefits. Oversees VA school website, as well as, VA literature and forms. Hires, trains, and supervise student workers and support staff on VA Educational benefits. Conducts outreach for purposes of recruitment and veteran benefits awareness. Collect data on veteran enrollment for the purposes of retention. Attend veteran services related to conferences and workshops to stay informed on policies and regulations.
